Quick question...

I ordered a Flirty Girl pole about 4 months ago and after I have been dancing around on it for these past 4 months I have realized it is a horrible pole! It has put a huge hole in my ceiling and everytime I try to do spins it loosens up and I have to tighten so it is making it hard for me to learn anything on it. I am going to get rid of it and sell it ( If possible ) and get an X pole. I am just curious about the 45mm 50 and 55... I am not sure what size FlirtyGirl is but what is the "Standard" size that most of you polers use... I like the size of my pole but when I ordered it, it never said what the size was. ❓ Thank you much! 😀

The standard is 50mm. If you take your current pole down and measure the diameter, if it's 2 inches across then it's 50mm. 45 is easier to grip but if you ever try to use a bigger pole after that, you won't be able to grip as well. It's always easier to grip smaller than what you're used to and harder to grip larger. So it would probably be best to start out on a 50. Hope this helps! Oh forgot to mention that I'm glad you decided to get a better pole and that you didn't hurt yourself on that crap one! I started on a Carmen Electra pole - piece-o-crap! It never fell on me, but it was really flimsy and I got sick of it after just 3 weeks. I don't regret buying my X-Pole whatsoever! 🥂

Standard size is 50mm (2inch) so most studios will have 50s and pretty much every single club will too. The 45 is great too if you are only interested in poling at home. ☀️

Thank you very much, I didn't even think about measuring it when I took it down. Mine is probably a 50.. If I bought a 45mm X pole after using a 50 would it be a big differance or not? What would you reccomend? My pole has never fell either but it's slowly pushing it's self into the ceiling and everyime I use it I get more nervous about it! I am afriad it will come crashing down any day! When I do spins it loosens and flakes from my ceiling fall! I am also renting 😕 Question about the X pole, Since it does not require any bolt/screws or mounts and it's held by tension will it eventully push itself into the ceiling as well? Or has your X pole been good for you?

X-pole shouldn't push through the ceiling if you are under a stud. If you move to a 45mm you'll find spins and hand gripped moves easier but leg grip will probably be harder. If you have small hands or sweaty hands you might prefer the 45mm but if you've been dancing on your 2''/50mm you'll probably do just fine with the 50mm X. I know the Flirty Girl style pole - it's similar to Lil Mynx but can you fastened the base to the floor with the FG pole? I had a Lil Mynx and it did the same thing and left a large hole in the ceiling as well as compromised the stud. If you fasten the base to the floor it should get rid of this problem. You rent so I am not sure if that is an option for you. I also rent and it just wasn't an option for me. Sadly. I have heard if you constantly take those types of poles down and reset them up you'll have no problems. I am going to use my LM to teach with but it will be taken down every hour of use.

The only time I ever had a prob with my lil mynx was when I hadn't accounted for capret softness and it caused the mount to come unscrewed and hurt the ceiling a bit (basically tore a bit at the ceiling but nothing huge no one else noticed but me). But once I moved it and accounted for carpet it hasn't done a thing to my ceilings and def nothing to the joist and I leave it up all the time. Wierd it screwed up your ceiling that much, but if you're worried prob best to go with a tension mounted x-pole.

My LM was up for over a year and when I took it down the whole flange fell out and sawdust rained down. I asked about it on S Factor, since for awhile it was the pole they sold, and there were some others who had the same problem. The LM's need to be retightened - well, all poles do over time. There were times when I would work in spin mode on my PS pole and I realized it had come a bit loose and had to retighten it. The problem with the LM is that there is a single screw fixing the flange, the pole sits in the flange so as the pole moves from big swings the flange moves thus the screw moves - essentially boring out the joist. If the pole is reset a lot and tightened or isn't used for really hard swings it's fine. I did have mine up a long time before it got loose like that. I *think* it's because the bottom can move out - even on carpet once it starts to loosen a bit - goes slightly crooked and that also stresses on the flange. For me once I saw the damage done I couldn't replace the pole where it was and decided to get a Platinum Stages. I love the LM's because they are one piece but was really put off by the damage. I probably didn't retighten it as much as it needed to be tightened though. I am sure it was 50% user error and 50% the design.
