questions about limits of ceiling height in a potential studio space.

hello ladies, I have found a space that I can potentially use it for a small pole studio but what is holding me back is that there are drop ceilings that are low that make it only 7ft but if i remove the drop ceilings the total ceiling height is 9.4ft. Has anyone came across this issue? Do you think it is possible to pole dance with such low ceilings? I would like to remove the drop ceilings but definitely need a alternative to cover all pipes, wires and ugly air vents. Dose any one know an alternative choice i can use rather adding a pricey drywall. I will be using removable poles. I am trying to truly stay on a low budget plan! I have attached a picture to help out. i am open to all opinions? Thank you, Rose

In my experience, 7 ft is too low. I found that out when I installed my Xpole in my basement. I had 7'4" there. It was fine until I advanced. then I was limited on inverts and multiple combo's where I needed height. I have since moved my pole out of the basement and also purchased an xstage lite, which I love. My living room has a cathedral ceiling so I can get nice and high with my xstage.

My ceilings are 7'7ft ish and i HATE them being that low! I have long legs and im forever kicking them etc also having to bend my legs in mid freestyle just to avoid it - it does not make pretty lines god damn it!! Like Dahvie said as i have advanced i have found it a real issue personally :-)

Isn't it an option to remove certain tiles and install the poles? Or not? I have def seen that done before.

Even with a few tiles removed you still only have 7 feet of usable pole. That is just too low especially for studio use.

For this space, the type of work you're looking to do requires a general contractor. I would consult with them to see what can be done. There's certain building codes that needs to be taken into consideration and that is their job and area of expertise. Good luck- it looks like a lovely space! I hope it works out.

Thank you all! would need to talk to a contractor and see exactly what my options are.. I would need to take the floating ceilings totally down and see how we can keep my 9ft height and just cover the ceilings.
