Question about X-Pole X-Pert

Hi, we're having our pole now for about a month (bought it second hand through Ebay) and what we were wondering from day one is, that the screws, that fixes the big screw at the bottom with which you lift the pole up (I don't know what it's called and hope you understand me right...) are sticking out a little. I can't believe this is supposed to be so!? Because when we do some moves we're scratching our skin... When I first put my Xpole up, those screws went all the way in, no prob. I took it down and put it up again recently, and now those screws are sticking out on my pole too! It's tightened all the way, they won't go in any further. I've been meaning to call Xpole and ask, because its not supposed to do that. It definitely scratches when you're working near the bottom of the pole. Hopefully someone here has a solution!

The screws have to line up with the indentations of the tension adjuster (or screw). If they don't line up with the inedntations you will not be able to screw them in all the way and will possibly damage the threads on the adjuster.

Ok, that definatly makes sense. Thanks! But then I would have to loosen the pole a little bit (as there is no way to get it tighter). Will it still be tight enough then?

loosen those screws, and then rotate the pole so that the holes line up with the grooves on the inner rod. then tighten the screws back up again. they should go all the way in, and you should be able to tighten them completely (but be careful not to overtighten). it took me about 5 minutes to fix it

Did you rotate your pole clockwise (loose) or counterclockwise (tight)?

You will only be loosening it a hair since there are 3 channels. And if you have your pole so tight that you cannot tighten it any more then it is probably too tight to begin. Will it even spin?

People always miss this part of the assembly directions. It is on page 7: Adjuster Locking and Cover Once the pole is tight align the three Hex screws with the 3 flat sections on the adjuster shaft and tighten the screws firmly. It helps to rock/rotate the pole very gently back and forth as you tighten the first screw to help seat it. Then tighten the others without rocking the pole. See web site for further info.

Ok so I'm gonna loosen it a bit. But why are you asking if it's spinning? For the spinning mode I thought are only the small hex screws at the bottom responsible? So, yes, it's spinning :-) Well I bought it second hand, and it didn't come with assembly directions...

You should only have to turn the pole a small bit, so it shouldn't really matter which direction. What I did is completely loosen my pole, then tightened it up until it was both tight against the ceiling and the holes were lined up with the grooves.

When I had to do this, I also loosened and retightened mine. When it got to the point that there was tension, but not enough tension, I would just turn in 3rds with yank tests until it felt right. That way it never got over tightened, but doesn't loose tension with weight or spins.

What I meant is that if your pole is too tight, when you put it into spin mode it will not spin.

Thank you guys so much! I now habe it fixed the right way and nothing is sticking out. I'm now kinda embarassed that I didn't see what now looks so obvious to me 😲

No need to be embarassed. The only reason I know about this is that it is a really common problem.
