problem putting up my pole :( help!

Okay I have ...what I presume is a bottom loading xpert pole. I'm from the uk. I have no idea whether I am just being really thick but I cant work it out at all. 🙁 Okay so the instructions tell me to place pole a on the bottom which i have done. then they told me to tighten the hex screw on then end of pole a over the X mark on the base which i have done. then they tell me to unscrew the adjuster cover by tunrning it anti clockwise which i have done. then it tells me to unscrew the 3 hex screws on pole a until they are "flush" whatever this means. Then "the pole will spin on the adjuster shaft" and apparently I should repeat this 2 or 3 times to make sure I am converse with the movement. The thing is.... i can't get the acrews to move. 🙁 at all. clockwise or anti colckwise. the hex key won't budge. I've tried really hard but they just won't budge. Am I doing something wrong? The other screws worked when I screwed the pole onto the base. Then I tried to move on with hope that maybe I could get pole B attached anyway, and i put in the x-joint and tried to screw those hex keys with the larger key. And these ones wouldn't budge either?? So either I'm being really stupid (highly likely possibility) or there is something wrong with my pole?? Any help from anyone who knows about bottom loading/uk x poles wuld be amazing. 🙁

ohmygod this is so annoying 🙁 I wish I wasn't so rubbish at doing stuff. Like there is a little give, I can move the hex key a tiny bit right, and the same distance a tiny bit left but not all the way around either way. Argh.

Aloha! I only recently received my X-Pert from the UK as well but I live in Sydney Australia. It is the BEST THING ever!! I found it really helpful if you look up "assembling an X-Pert" on YouTube and make sure it's the new X-Pole X-Pert poles and not the old ones. I'm not sure if the link will work if I copy & paste it in so best to search for it on YouTube. It will really make a LOT of sense once U see how it's done as I was exactly the same when I read the manual - my eyes just glazed over. It's best to assemble Pole A + Pole B + your extensions on top of Pole B then your dome and then the base onto Pole A. Get someone to help you lift up the pole as it's very heavy! Make sure you really PUSH the rod into the hex screw holes properly (fits fully in and not partially in) and give it a really HARD push. I find it helpful to get some male strength on your side as my extensions came already attached to my X-Joints. I'm not sure if that's the standard. I wanted to unscrew them anyway. Watch that video I suggested and then read the manual and then watch the video again and try assembling your pole. It will make more sense. When screws are "Flush" it means they're sticking out and beyond the surface of the pole. U want the 3 screws on Pole A to be "flush" when U unscrew it as it'll release the adjuster rod which is what lenthens or shortens the pole to fit your ceiling. Then when you tighten them, you want them to be resting on the flat part of the rod. I didn't know this and my screws were tightened and still "flush" and I did a climb and when I slid down from the pole, the rough edges of the screws took a bit of skin off my foot! U don't want that!! Lemme know how U go! Good luck! Once you know how to do it, it's pretty easy. 🫡

Eeee Thank you so much Joyful that's so helpful! 😀 That video was so good. I know...I mean I'm sure the instruction are great but I read through them about 3 times and my stupid blonde brain could not handle transferring what was on the paper in to reality. I am such a bad example for feminism. 🙄 Anyway pole is UP now but unfortunately I've discovered the pole is like...one inch too small for my ceiling so I think I'm gonna have to get an extension. Typical. Thanks though, i would never have found that video if it wasnt for you, and my pole and i would just be sitting sadly in the corner crying. 🥂

Hey HalfJack! That's great!!! I'm so happy for you that you did it!!! 😀 Measure the ceiling you've installed your pole in as it may mean that you use the longer extension tube from your X-Pert pack and then just adjust the pole as high as you can. I believe there's a certain amount you can adjust the adjuster rod to (in cms it was about 12.5cm roughly?) for it to still be safe to use. Otherwise, I've also read that people have placed a small flat piece of wood on top of the dome and in between the ceiling to give added height. You can search for it in one of the threads under "dance pole" as I've read on here before. No drilling is required for the wood to ceiling. Just make sure you tighten it properly and then test for stability for some time with some tugs and on the floor spins to ensure stability before inverting or climbing. I hope that helps!
