Powder Coat Thickness

To anyone that has gotten the pole for their Xstage or Xstage Lite powder coated, did you remove the bearing piece when you brought it to be powder coated? Does the powder coating change the thickness of the pole such that it is difficult to put the bearing piece back on afterwards? Also, did you get the x-joint holes plugged prior to powder coating? I'm just not sure what to expect!
