Pole Dancing at 50 (or any age)

This was an article written by our teresawitch ... I looked to see if it had been posted somewhere and didn't find it, so I apologize if this is a duplication. It caught my eye because I'm a 50-something too, but upon reading it, I recognized much of what she says is ageless: Pole Dancing at 50 When I first read it, I had come home exhausted after a day in court with yet another legal battle with my ex-husband. Upon rereading later that day, I noticed she is a professional counsellor, and her last paragraph hit the mark: Pole dancing is good for the mind, body and spirit. My confidence has grown, I walk taller and hold my head high. I tell you as a professional counsellor they should put pole dancing on prescription. If you are depressed, recovering from a broken heart or just stuck in the doldrums, give pole a try. You have got nothing to lose and a lot to gain. 🌸 Thank you, Teresa!!! 🌸 I needed to see those words at exactly that time! I've been thru hell for over three years with the divorce, it was ugly and protracted, with legal stuff continuing since it became final 18 months ago. The physical toll was that my cholesterol went up 100 points and my blood sugar crossed into the diabetes zone, even though I had lost significant weight. As a result I had some ischemic episodes, the first being a month after I started poling. Recurring health problems meant that I lost ground, and would have to repeat a class, but I kept at it and have now completed the Advanced series my studio has to offer. Between the sense of community and the sense of accomplishment that Teresa describes, I have to agree, it's the best therapy money can buy, and this article confirms that for me!
