I started poling last october, so have yet to pole when the weather has been really hot outside. Well, I had the worst work out tonight. I could not stop slipping off the pole. I had zero grip with my hands, armpit, legs. I used mighty grip and , had a fan going, the ac on and nothing worked. I sure hope it won't be like this all summer.

I'm from an area that gets very humid in the summer. I find that the humidity makes poling so much easier! I actually stick to the pole! 🥂 In the winter, the air is very dry and I can't stick to the pole. I really don't want to have to use any product on my skin to aid sticking, but I may have to think about it in the winter months.

In summer months I will slide if I am sweating too much. I keep a towel nearby and a fan on in the room. I like that the pole warms up much faster in warmer temps. Try poling at different times of the day or night when there is a certain temp outside. In summer I pole around 8 PM... otherwise it is so hot I'm just a mess. If you are extra slippery make sure you did not wear lotions too soon to poling or other variables you can control. It's a whole lot of trial and error so experiement and be persistent. It will pay off! :)
I get that! Here in denmark, the summer days are very, very moist. I use mighty grip gloves on those days, otherwise I cant do two tricks without having to wipe down me and the pole. But the gloves let me work out for longer. Armpit grips I cant do on those days, but my knee pit grip is great. I wish I could have a closed pole room, where the temp and humidity would always be perfect 🥂
Like Steffie I also live in Denmark. In cold weather I have to use Red Bull (the drink) on my hands to have a proper grip. I always slide down if not, because of my very dry skin. I have older skin and have worked a lot with my hands, therefore they lack humidity. If the weather is hot the humidity is also high and Red Bull does not work either, then I have to clean the pole for every move with alcohol or glasscleaner.
I live in NC and it is insanely humid, you will break a sweat walking to your car. Today we are expecting a high of 105! I've been kind of discouraged, for instance yesterday, because my practices have me slipping on even the most familiar moves. On top of that, I already have struggled with excessively sweaty palms. The best things I can suggest are cleaning the pole with a distilled white vinegar/97% rubbing alcohol. Then I spray my palms with this same solution, pat dry, and apply Dryhands grip aid. Dryhands has been my best friend on those really sweaty days! I sometimes put a small dot on my palms and wipe my pole with it, it leaves a white residue but it cleans off and it's really helpful to me when I have to grab low (for instance an Extended Butterfly.) Also, when I apply Dryhands I make sure to get it between my fingers, that has made a big difference in keeping the sweat at bay. And like JeHanne said poling later in the day can be helpful on hot days. The only thing I haven't really been able to overcome is, like Steffie said, any armpit grip on those really humid days. Sorry this is a long response, but I have come up with an elaborate routine for this because it gets so hot here and I already have grip issues. Hope this is helpful!
Yes, theres alot of great solutions outthere, the only problem is that so many factors are in play, when finding the one that works for you. Where do you live, what kind of pole, what kind of weather, skin type, allergies and so on. The only thing you can do is to try out some of the tips, and then you will find the one that works for you :) Tis definately not impossible to overcome this problem.

Thanks for all the great advice. Will try ALL of them till I find what works for me. I was so frustrated yesterday. Wanted to attempt the pencil after recently learning bow and arrow and could not for the life of me do CAR even though I had done it 15 times the previous day!

I have itac level 2 and 4, mighty grip , dry hands, and tight grip all on hand each one works at different times depending on my skin the weather and the pole,! Sometimes I do not need any thing, sometimes i need to mix them, and other times nothing at all works including using nothing! Those are the really good strength building days ! Though frustrating!
