pls help with an 'exotic dancer' question

i tend to use stripper but some don't like the term 🙂 i ummmm, this may sound dumb, but i would be totally fine dancing for money if i could leave on my bra and boy shorts. can people do that???? i dance pretty sexy, but i don't go for the...dance 'on purpose' sexy with flinging my booty out like a cat, you know...?? i mean i've done that for boyfriends, but wouldn't really enjoy myself doing it publicly. sometimes when i dance at a club it feels like sex, but it comes naturally for me. see i just love costumes! and dancing! and making up performing names for myself 🙂 i honestly don't know if clubs exist where you leave your undies on...??? and what about music? some music i just wouldn't be up for doing--how often can you pick your own? see, i just want my own lisa-centered vegas-style performance venue 🙂 ahahaha LADY RAYGUN is that the coolest name or what 🙂 dressed in mostly white for the raver look 🙂 i want to get a white top hat and a white cane with a black tip, and a circus-looking white tux, short with long tails. how fun 🙂 i'm also getting some white tassels to spin on white cord--kind of like poi dancing from maori in new zealand, its really cool 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fXgEXAc_RE onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; i've had a stable office job for 7 years, and i just see how full of crap it is. no one has vision or real integrity, its just a meaningless job. i always thought 'they' had it all together, and dancing is...kind of wasteful. but i see what i do in the 'real world' has no more meaning than what i really love to do 🙂 you know??? i'm focusing a lot on dancing now and stretching--love of my life!!! thank you 🙂 lis

I know I've read before that some of the big name pole dancers have worked in strip clubs but were bikini dancers which to me means, they work bikinis and didn't get naked.

I don't know of any place that doesn't go topless - this doesn't mean they don't exist but I don't think any do around me. Typically a strip bar is topless. If you are okay with going topless...but here's the thing. You make money off lapdances not stages. And you may have to dance topless in those lapdances. Depends on the club. So while the performing aspect of it is what we do - there are other parts of it that are a bit harder. You have to have thick skin to be a dancer in a club. I say try it and see what you think.

The same is true here in Ohio....I don't know of a single bikini bar, they are all topless or more and none are just dance.

Have you tried GoGo dancing? Lots of girls gogo in Vegas and they have a ton of fun, but ultimately don't make a huge load of money. Most girls do it on the weekends in addition to whatever else they do during the week. There are even major GoGo dance contests here at Hard Rock, I think. I'm not sure what the girls make but in the upscale clubs, the girls are not allowed to accept tips. Or look for Burlesque troops. I think that SaschaPoles is in one. Let us know what you're going to do!

I've done some searches on strip bars before, I've found four different catagories: fully nude, topless, pasties and bikini. I'm hoping to visit some eventually to see some moves so I'll probably try getting to the bikini ones. 🌸

yEAH... i dance on the weekend at a gentleman's club while holding down a full time office job and a pole studio. You make maybe $5 on stage for an ayesha, if anything. I've often left the stage with nothing even after doing some supermans, teddy bears, etc. Once in a while you make $20 for some conversation and company. But 95% of your money comes from rubbing up mostly naked on men. It's honestly not that bad as long as you keep your boundaries and sobriety/wits about you and are vigilant about the creeps. I waitressed for two years because I was so disgusted by the men, but I would have given anything to have stripped instead (I was still in college and it would have been a lot easier to strip to pay tuition than strip to pay interest on student loans... all after getting up at 5am all week and having a full schedule) So, you have a choice. give in, take your top off, do some lap dances and make enough money that you'll kick yourself for ever doing anything else. OR find an alternative to stripping that you can do with clothes on but realize you prolly won't make more than $150 a night doing so. Burlesque or go-go. Sometimes I take a portable stage to regular concerts, this is $200 split between 3-4 people, no nudity. Far, far less than I make at an actual club, but always is fun. You could do aerial work of any kind at private parties. let us know what you find. Julie

nakie pays. guys don't care about tricks they care about boobies. lol! AND stripping is a great way to make money - not sure how the economy has effected things as of late - none the less you'll make a lot more money doing that as Miss Julie says than waiting on them. YOU have to determine your own boundries - no one can yes do it or no don't but if you are thinking about it - you deserve to give yourself the option to see. I hated dancing. I won't ever do it again. But then I hated selling guitars and number of things I have sold. Stripping = sales and is soooo not my forte. I can't sell grip aid to sweaty polers. 🙄

Most of the clubs I have worked in they allow you to keep your shorts on but MOST not all but most of the clubs will require you to take your top off on main stage. You should get to pick your music and all clubs have their stipulations on what you can and can't play. Now keep in mind your not gonna make you money off of tips but off of lap dances. So if you don't want to have to do that then I would say stay away from the clubs. Depending on what club you go to is gonna depend on what kind of money you are going to make. I have worked in clubs where you have girl who dont want you to touch them at all. I have worked at clubs where the girls will give blowjobs and have sex (EWWWWW) right in front of you and not care at all that you can see and nine times out of ten neither do the guys. I have also worked at clubs where girls are super shady and will steal you money. NEVER trust ANYONE w/ you money, NOT EVEN the house mom cause they will steal from you too. If you plan to work in a club you need to make sure that you are going to make the job work for you dont work for the job. If you can stick to that and work up a good clientel that will respect your wishes on touching then you will do great but it wont come easy if you have girls who will do dirty stuff. If you see that going on TO MUCH, cause not matter where you go it's gonna happen, then you nee to move clubs. I hope I havent' scared you cause working in a club can be fun these are just things you should look out for but working in a club can be tons of fun.

Depending on where you live, bikini clubs can be tough to find. They exist in big cities, for the most part, but other than that they're few and far between. I work at a topless club - we are required to keep our thong on. It's the only club I've ever worked at, so I don't know what it's like at other clubs, but I can tell you that we aren't "required" to take off anything. If we want to keep our costume on, we keep our costume on. That's our prerogative. There are situations where we choose to leave our clothes on, like if the club is empty or we aren't getting tipped. If you choose to keep your clothes on in all situations, though, unfortunately you will quickly find that the money won't be worth the effort. Even the good guys still came to see some degree of nudity. The money: I'm the most advanced pole dancer at my club, and I can make a good $50-75 on stage dances on a good night. There are always the jerks who say, "Get down here and show me your p*ssy" and refuse to tip me when I don't, but the majority of guys do appreciate the pole dancing and will tip me for it. So in my experience, you'll get the money you deserve for the pole work. I work at a tiny redneck club where only one girl dances onstage at a time, though, so if you're in a bigger city with more competition, the money from stage dances might be less. It is true that the majority of an exotic dancer's revenue is made from lap dances/couch dances or VIP if your club has one. Again, removal of clothing cannot be required, but I'm sorry to say a guy won't choose to get a couch dance with a girl who won't take her clothes off when he can have another girl who will. So it all just depends on how much money you want to make and what you're comfortable with. You shouldn't do anything that you aren't comfortable with, because it will show in your body language, but keep in mind that while most people appreciate pole work, the industry is more about nude women than anything.

wow you girls are great 🙂 i realize what i want to do--just be a regular dancer with my clothes on i don't think this would work at a 'nudie bar' 😉 of course...there's tons of girls that want to be dancers! ahaha so i'll just have fun for now and see how good/cool/interesting i get if nothing else, it can help me get a hottie bf and get in great shape and be happy 🙂 i'm hoping for Jamie Bell (actor/dancer), but who knows!! when i get in better shape, i'll probably post you a vid on youtube and propose to Mr. Bell 🙂 ahaha lis

Major PC moment: My call is on using the poi: they are taonga (treasure) to Maori and I feel that using them as part of a sexually themed dance is a little disrespectful. It's akin to using a First Nation head dress or something similar, someone will feel uncomfortable about it. The British colonialists really screwed up far too many cultures (First Nation, Maori, Aborigine of Australia - who were considered Fauna by the Australian Government until the 1960's!) that using these things without understanding the whakapapa of the taonga is wrong. Maori have a very strong understanding of their cultural identity - well the ones who will stand up for it, and they have forced very large companies to back down on using Maori taonga. The same is true here in Ohio....I don't know of a single bikini bar, they are all topless or more and none are just dance. The one I went to last Saturday was just stage dancing no lapdances. But it was full nude. I don't know of any topless ones...I have heard they exist though...

I did pretty good money wise but I didn't enjoy having to be up in every mans face. It got real old real quick LOL. And I didn't want to talk to the guys I didn't think were hot, LOL that didn't work out well either.

RE: POI thanks rouge, but i actually thought of spinning tassels first, then wondered if anyone else uses this in dancing...i found the poi after my idea!!! (they use soft balls) so i bought the tassels already, i can tell anyone honestly i was spinning before i knew of poi. i tied up some cord to practice, but knew i wanted tassels, so i just ordered them. kewl huh 🙂 and yes i want to try fire eventually, or at least glowing things, i guess a lot of people do that too and poi were not always used as weapons, maybe the long poi, but the short poi (closer to what i want to do) are made to be soft so they are bounced off the body, more often used by women and essential in their storytelling practice. lis 🙂
