Pirouette death match!!

At least that's what I'm calling it.. This video has been quite helpful but its about all i"ve found off you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_Swtc7nNhE Does anyone have any other good examples of pirouettes? I do the regular pirouette (under dominant arm), reverse pirouette (away from arm) and salsa pirouette (Jenyne often opens up with this one lately. its like a double pirouette). I'm also working on pirouettes involving the elbow, but not seeming to get it quite this well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZlGTJYg2m0 Any help would be appreciated as I'd like to be able to teach around five different versions of the pirouette -Julie

I used the first one to learn more pirouettes it seems like 3 of them are all the same w just the hand higher or lower. I do one where I reach behind my head grab the pole w thumb down and spin away from the pole. If u can't visualize that I can make a quick vid for u later 😳

The elbow ones are addictive. Once you start with that elbow, there's no going back. It'll feel so natural you'll wonder why your hand was ever on the pole.

Confession: I can't do pirouettes because I have only ever poled in my own home on my own BLEEPING carpet which burns the hell out of my toes when I try. I need to put packing tape on my pleasers so I can at least try to practice, because quite frankly, smooth pirouettes are like 75% of having good transitions imo. My dancing doesn't feel complete without them. Even with the packing tape there's nothing like dancing on a nice smooth floor. There's a dance studio on campus here that students can rent out for practice...I might have to inspect the ceilings in there and see if they'd work on my xpole. That smooooooth dance floor would be so heavenly.

U could get one of those plastic floor things u put under a wheely desk chair and cut out a hole for your xpole. I'm thinking of trying this too. I've thought about putting my pole in the kitchen for a practice lol I'm sick of carpet too! 😳
