Perfect way to celebrate my pole anniversary, but..

Looking back on the past year, it's amazing how much I've learned and improved since my first class in mid-March. If someone would've told me then that I would be able to combo multiple spins together, hang upside-down by my legs, or invert and do a "Falling Angel".. or last night's accomplishment, Catepillar (Whoohoo!!).. I would tell them they were crazy. But I fell so deeply for Pole Dancing and I'm so proud of how far I've come. So when my instructor told us that the second studio would be ready in two weeks and that the Grand Opening would be March 12th from 3-7, I was stoked. She said that she and the other instructors would be performing, doing mini-lessons and that it would be great if any of us wanted to perform as well, even if it was just a few of our favorite tricks. Of course I want to do it.. but no matter how many times I practice a routine, my mind goes blank when the music starts. I can crank up my stereo when I'm out in the garage practicing and freestyle my heart out - no problem. When I'm driving, I have my music turned up and I find myself tossing my hair, rockin' out some hip/chest circles and anything else I can do sitting down - people see me, I don't care. And of course I'm guilty of getting my dance on in my Vickies in my bedroom. I don't know why I can't fight off the mind-erasing anxiety. My 1st year pole anniversary falls right around the Grand Opening. If I could rock out a couple routines during the event, it would give me the chance to show off everything I've learned.. okay, I would be pleased with one killer performance. lol But I know my Mom and sister would come, maybe even some of my clients who are curious.. that doesn't bother me as much as the people who don't know me. AND one of the local radio stations might broadcast live.. so if I bust my face, trip in my heels or have a wardrobe malfunction, I'll never hear the end of it. Aahhh, I don't even know what I'm going to wear. Help!!
