Oh look, it's Superwoman!!

No wait - it's just Poledork 😛 Just thought I would give everyone a brief background, after reading my comments on my latest movie. A lot of people are highly impressed and amazed at my progress after having my pole for just over a month. I didn't want anyone to feel disheartened about their own progress or think that i'm some kind of superhero 😛 I think I mentioned this in my intro post, but I took lessons in Australia prior to moving here and buying my own pole. There were a few big gaps in between them (visits to US) but I took about 15 all up, so about 7.5 hours total on the pole. I hated these lessons as we did 30-45 minutes warmup and then limited time on the pole which was frustrating due to the varying levels of progress in the group and the ratio of poles to ppl. Nonetheless before I left my teacher told me I had progressed faster than any student she had. My ego went woooooosh 😛 Apart from that I was a little monkey as a kid and when I wasn't climbing trees, I was teaching myself Gymnastics - flips, handstands etc I lost a lot of that flexability since, but I think that helped with the fear aspect of being upside down and climbing the pole. Aaaaand the last job I held when I left Aust. was in Fresh Produce and Bakery sections of a grocery store - Lot's of heavy lifting = building strength Aaaaand about a month before I left I started an exercise routine that included weights - more strength building. So in conclusion, there are a lot of factors in my past that gave me an edge in Pole dancing and on top of that I am a very stubborn determined person. Every woman and man on this site has exhibited something that I have envied, admired and have been proud of. Everyone seems to have their own personality and style that makes each video I watch unique and entertaining. I've noticed that many of you are hard on yourself and don't seem to accept the credit you deserve and I didn't want to make this worse. I apologise for the long post, but I love this community and I didn't want to give off any false impressions. Much Love!! 😀

poledork- you're really so sweet for writing that post.. that was very thoughtful of you! That's so cute how you're so modest and trying to justify your progress.. i understand how all those things helped you to do so well on the pole, (similar things in my past have helped me as well), but i believe you're also innately awesome and just have an amazing talent for pole-dancing! Don't hesitate to show off your next video, i can't wait to see it and to follow your progress!!! xxx

Actually PoleDork, I know exactly what you mean... I've also gotten several comments about how fast I've been learning too (I think I've been at this about the same amount of time that you have... I started beginning of March, but with no prior related experience). It's made me feel a lot better about myself and I love to share my successes, but at the same time I've felt really self-conscious that I was making other people feel badly about themselves because they weren't learning as fast as I was, and that some people thought I was bragging... It actually made me feel better that there was another new person here other than me that seemed to be learning freakishly fast! (at the same time insanely jealous, but not in a bad way... 😜 ) Except unlike you, I really don't have as many excuses for why I learn so fast... I work in the Dietary department at a nursing home and while I'm not nearly as strong as you are, I had somewhat-stronger-than-average arms and abs because of pulling the large food and dish carts around. When they're full, they're rather heavy and it takes more muscles than you would think to steer them (not to mention our elevator doesn't always stop even with the floor and sometimes you have to slightly lift the carts to get them on or off... grr...). So it didn't take much practice to be able to lift my own body weight. I used to take gymnastics when I was like 7, but it was only for a couple months and really learned nothing beyond a cartwheel and the rolls. I also ran cross-country and track for a couple years in high school, but I majorly sucked... came in last almost every time. 🙁 It's a great boost of confidence knowing that it's something that almost comes naturally but you wonder if it generates any negative feelings from others... and then at the same time you're wondering if you're thinking too much of yourself by wondering if anyone is thinking negatively of you!!! (did you follow all that??? 😂 ) I was thinking about putting up a similar post saying kinda the same thing but I was worried about that kinda thing, too... so kudos to you!!! 🥂 But seriously, you really are great at this and obviously are a natural. And I still get jealous if you when I watch your vids, but it's the motivating kinda jealous... kinda like when we watch Veena's videos. 😜 So keep up the good work, and you learn and grow as fast as you want to! 🥂

Thanks Azriel lol, I love your videos! 🙂 Foxy_Rei - I know what you mean, I wasn't sure about the post because I didn't want to come off as arrogant. But at the same time I know how frustrating it can be for people when you're busting your butt learning a move and some one comes along who hasn't been doing it as long and pulls it off like it's nothing 🙁 I have seen a few posts to that effect and I didn't want to give off false impressions 🤔 I just watched a few of your video's again and wow, you are making good progress - congratulations 🙂

Hehe I want to do an uncut one, I keep putting it off cos I have really sweaty hands and have to wipe down the pole alot, but weather is improving so hopefully that will help 🙂

Everyone progresses at different rates...and yes it can be frustrating for those who have been at it for longer. But I can totally understand your post (Poledork & Foxy). I wouldn't say that I progressed as quickly as you ladies did...but once I got my pregnancy weight gone and I could focus on pole tricks..things just seem to naturally come to me. I do have gymnastics and figure skating background (possible advantage). I just started teaching a couple tricks classes at a local studio and the girls were shocked when I told them that I've only been seriously poling for maybe 7 mths (I've had my pole a year though). The only disadvantage that I've seen is that there are some fast progressing polers out there that get these difficult moves real early on and they just want to add more tricks to their check list...but their technique can be sloppy and sometimes dangerous and they don't try to "polish" their moves...That being said...I haven't seen anyone on here that I would group like that. I think this kind of community supports fast and slow learners and teaches us to continually improve our skills. You ladies are doing great! 🥂

Hehe I want to do an uncut one, I keep putting it off cos I have really sweaty hands and have to wipe down the pole alot, but weather is improving so hopefully that will help 🙂 OMG I'm exactly the same way! I hide it by either doing my really grippy moves at the beginning (notice my April Challenge vid started right off with a reverse grab), or I do the "sexy" thing and rub my hands on my hips... it's just to hide the fact I'm wiping the sweat off. 🙄 By the way I hope I didn't completely crash your thread by jumping in with the whole "Oh me, too!" thing... I was just so happy I wasn't alone!!! 🤸 And Roxy, I'm trying to be sooo careful about the whole move checklist thing that you mentioned... I really want to learn some new moves, but I want to make sure I'm doing them right first. It's all about self-control!!! 🫡
