Hi Veeners, I'll be in New York in December for 3 or 4 nights, I'm flying out NY on the 12.12 and just need a place to sleep...is here anyone who can help me out or any suggestions where I can find a cheap but clean place?? Also any advises on pole dance studios? Thanks ladies :-)

New York's a big place! Do you know what part of town you're mainly going to be in? As far as pole dance studios go, yeah, there's lots of good choices. I go to Foxy Fitness, but I've heard good things about Body and Pole, and NY Pole as well.

Thanks AriesWolf, well I've never been there so I'm pretty much open to any suggestions. I found good reviews on NYP too, I'll check yours and the other one on the www - thanks!! I just really look for a place to sleep for 3-4 nights, just clean, good location and hopefully inexpensive because I'm on a tight budget. Any ideas where there are good hostels or anyone who can rent out a spare room for those dates?
The last time I spent the night there it was at NY Moore Hostel, 179 Moore Street, New York, NY 11206. It was $40/night for a cot (in a dorm with 8 cots/shared bathroom) which is cheap by NYC standards! I got there when most folks were in bed and left early the next morning. Kids were in the courtyard talking in British accents and I felt like I was spending the night at Hogwarts.
Are you just coming as a tourist? If so, then you probably have more flexibility. I haven't done a lot of looking into hotel/hostels (y'know, since I live here and all), but I just booked a room for someone at work, and I can tell you the rates are a good 2-3 times more than any other part of the country. Look out for the hospitality tax, too, since that's pretty steep. (I don't know the exact number, but it's in the 10-15% range.) If you're on a budget, you might want to look into the other boroughs. It's pretty easy to get from Queens or Brooklyn to Manhattan, as long as your hotel/hostel is near a subway stop. (Parts of Brooklyn are pretty up-and-coming, so you can definitely spend a day or two playing tourist there.) Places on the New Jersey are more affordable, and the taxes are lower, but transportation is harder since they're not on the same MTA transit system. (There are trains, but then you'll have to buy your train tickets as well as your subway tickets.) If you're really in a pinch, you could try airbnb, where you can rent out people's spare rooms. I haven't tried it, so I won't vouch for it, but it's an option.

Ok oh yes thanks, good to know with all the extras which might come on top. Mmh so Brooklyn and Queens is ok than I guess?! Well I'm waiting for someone at airbnb to answer my request, so hopefully that works out. I also found a hostel which is hopefully ok for the price and value, it's on Broadway street and only 2 or 4 female to share with for around 45$. I just never thought NY is so expensive, I knew it would cost quite a lot, but never thought about those dimensions :-/ hope I won't be disappointed in the big city :-D all my hopes are set on good shopping at least
I'll suggest you to look into AirBnB, which is a site where people rent a room in their home and it's definitely cheaper than a hotel or http://new-york.hotelscheap.org/ for relatively cheap hotels. But you have to know that nothing in NYC is actually cheap.
