Not sticking to the pole :(

Ok so does anyone else have days when they are just not sticking to the pole? I purposely took showers and did not lotion for two days straight. Im a sista so you can imagine how ashy I am! Lol..But I used dry hands, I sprayed my legs and thighs with alcohol, I even used itac and I am still slipping. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on? Has anyone else experienced this? It's a big ass bummer and Im getting frustrated! :(... I am starting to wonder if the weather has anything to do with it as we went from summer to winter in like one day. HEELLLLPPP I need to get my major pole on I am going through stunt withdrawls! :(

I have the same problem with weather changes. If its cold out side I have to make sure it's extra warm in the house to be able to stick & I extend my warm up time on the pole also before doing anything to fancy ;)

Good chance its the weather. You could also try steam cleaning the pole with a fabric steamer or iron set to steam. It's the worst feeling ever when your grip is non existent, I had major grip issues when I performed on Friday!! I couldn't get my body warmed up and the room and pole were just too cold. I had to bail out of 2 moves that I can easily do. So anyway try steam cleaning the pole then go from there. 🌸

Thank you ladies not that it's a good thing, but I was seriously starting to think something was wrong with me and I was the only one. Like I can't even sit on the pole I just slide straight down and I am gripping for dear life. :(.. So to steam it, just plug in the iron put it on steam and hold it up to the pole?

If you are ashy, that is the problem. Not everyone can pole without lotion. I use it every day. I am so dry and ashy. That will cause you to slip. You need to be warm and moisturized. I use in medium now and have no more problems. It is not for your hands, but body. It is more of a moisture for your body than a grip aid. It is for pole though. I love it. It comes in 3 formulas light, medium, and heavy. I use medium all seasons. I have not had a problem since using this. Put it on rub in wash hands and wait a minute and pole!!! badkittyexoticwear sells it. Good luck!!!

Yep, put it on steam and when the pole is slightly wet wipe if down right away, you don't need to let it sit or anything. Don't wipe it until you've moved the iron away though so you don't get a steam burn! Also I agree with luvlee, I also use lotion everyday. I use the store brand Lubriderm, but I don't use it right before. Let me know how it all works out!

I have got to get a new steamer also. My Toby crapped out a while ago. I miss it.

Is the steamer/iron idea temporary or just use it several times until the pole isn't so slippery..like for new poles?

The steam is to remove the residue that comes on new poles, but I think it could be useful for a nice cleaning for any built-up residue from caked on grip aids.

I use steam on every new pole a few times before using it. Then I used steam every few days or weeks depending on how much dancing I've done. I did use it every time before I poled when I lived in the Midwest. Mostly because it worked well to warm the pole. I have grip issues when it's cold out :)

I have dry skin too. Sometimes (in very dry air) it has helped me using Red Bull (the drink) on my skin. Let it dry up for some minutes. Also shaving soap is sometimes very good. But for my hands the very best is to put on rubber gloves for the first 10 minutes, then after my skin is soft and sticks very good without gloves as long as I keep my body warm. When it is cold outside and you turn on the heater the humidity in the air goes down drastically, that is the problem, I think.
