I'm trying to get my grip with my inside leg to do a front hook, but my grip is just....bad. I just keep sliding :/ I think I need some grip aid for serious because I just cant stick to the pole. :(

Front hook is a bit difficult. It's not actually gripping tightly in your kneepit area. The grip is sort of all along the side/back of the hooked thigh and the mid-calf. To get there, you need to push your pelvis forward. It is not as solid feeling as the back hook. And I think it takes more arm strength to do well. I consider this almost a 1 handed spin with your leg guiding you, not providing much support.
I want to do a spin similar, but I need 2 hand grip or something. I just can't remember the name of the spin tha tI am thinking of thats similar. I'm trying to get better at things its just hard to build up strength :(

Anything with a leg hook, with your leg to the side of you (and either spinning backward or forwards, if you are spinning) you need to push your hips forward. Seriously, if you leave your hips behind and scrunch your knees up toward your chest, you will find that you just slip right off. Hips forward means you're angling your knee away from you, giving you a better grip behind the knee, and the ability to use your calf in opposition to your thigh, rather than at direct right angle to it. This is SUPER important if you want any kind of grip with the leg. Even better is getting your leg up higher, so that your knee is at the same horizontal level as your hip. But... some people just can't keep it up for very long without lots of practice!
I can tell its going to take some work. Tomorrow if I have some time, I'll take a video of me doing it to show what i'm doing :)
