No Classes near by :(

Hello Ladies, My husband is in the Army and we live on post, and well there seems to be NOTHING really close to me at all for classes 😢 . So I know I been teaching myself, I am trying to get a grip on the Chair Spin, and the Martini Spin, and just trying to learn to swing on it with my grip without hitting the floor like a rock. 😕. So now I am lost, any ideas on how to help learn at home?. Where to watch videos?. Tips? 🤔 . I will really appreciate it. Another question is, I don't have the shoes I see most girls wearing, I got a pair of go-go boots (vinyl ones) and a pair of like leather almost, they tie up, they are about 7 inches tall. I can walk and what not in them.. anywhere for shoes?. Thank!! 🌸

girl do i hear you! ❗ this is my biggest gripe.. 😈 io have no classes and no one close by to pole with. I'm in Mass but the closest 1 is an hr away (1 way). I am trying (but not getting very far as do'nt really know where to start looking..) to start classes here. i can def teach beginner/intermediate 📚 🦇 (my most adv. moves would be things like superman -> chopper, shoulder mount -> crucifix, split grip aysha -> superman ect.). i was thinking of trying to do pole parties, but again am a little lost as to where to even start the legal stuff (insurance, permits??) 🤔 if you really can't find anything nearby, i would def recommend getting veena's lessons (they're viewed on-line and are available 24/7) esp now that she's going to be adding more. i have taken a total of 4 classes and the rest was self-taught w videos, dvds, V's lessons, and trial n error. 👍 just take it slow and be consistent and by new years you'll be reading a book while you spin around in Chair 🥂 plus you can always get suppourt out here from all of us! 🌸 ps! tell your husband thanks for being in the army and being willing to protect our country!!! 🫡 🥂

Pole Twista: Yeah It's a hour and 30 minutes away ONE WAY here too. It's just a bit much. I am going to get Veena's lessons as soon as we get paid next week 🙂 🥂 . I am in Fort Drum NY, its about 30 miles outside of Cananda. Talk about in the middle of no where! 😂 But for the time being I am going to try my best as teaching myself, practice makes perfect and well..like you all say .. no pain no gain, we shall see. I know I got a LOVELY bruise on my thigh and my hands hurt so bad. But hey, keep going 😁 . Thanks for appreciating what my husband does 👍 \He says thank you, as well as I do 😀

I did not have any classes near by either when I started. I own a bunch of videos and also have spent many many many hours watching youtube videos and learning the mechanics of moves. As for shoes, I am sure that Watertown has stores where you can try them on. I have been lucky enough to get shoes through wholesalers or on ebay. I know what size I wear in both Ellie and Pleaser. If there are any temporary costume shops near you (Halloween USA, Spirit, etc) this is the time to get bargains on some of the shoes.

Even if you have classes around doesn't mean you should take them. Lots of studio's have instructors incorrectly teaching and really have no background in fitness or understanding of basics. I don't go into any of our local studios to be taught anymore and found that I learn better on my own by recording each of my practice sessions and having my hubby spot me when learning new moves off the ground and having crash mats. If you don't already have the art of pole series I'd suggest them as Jamila breaks down the moves very well and they are easy to follow.
