New here (sort of), have some questions

Hello everyone! I am sort of new here....I made an account awhile ago but can't remember the e-mail I used for the life of me. 😕 Anyways, I have wanted to get into pole dancing for about 2 years....but money and the fact that I kept wimping out kept me away. I want to get a pole but there's no way I can afford an x-pole. :( Anyone have any other suggestions? Looking at amazon I found a PePenPePentni

Oops I clicked the wrong button sorry. I meant to say a Penthouse Party at my pole kit....thing that got a couple good reviews....It's more in my price range. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :D

I wouldn't get anything but an X or similar. I've bought poles off of Craigslist before, is that an option?
Veena · 12/16/2011
Don't buy a party pole. They are toy like poles only to be used for "fun". Like sparrow mentioned I would go with X pole, Platinum Stages or Lil mynx. Good luck with your poling!! 🥂

Ok thanks for the replies. I guess I'll have to check craigslist then. The x-pole is just so expensive but I will keep looking. Thank you. :)
sparrow · 12/16/2011
The most expensive pole you'll buy is one that's a toy though, since you won't be able to really use it. :) GL!

An Xpole sport is only about $50 more than that pole. You can also pick up a Lil Mynx color for the same price or as the rest have said, check craigslist.
Esperonza16 · 12/16/2011
Xpole sport? I haven't even seen one of those. I'll look for it. As well as the lil Mynx. Thank you very much everyone. :D I'm really looking forward to learning this and hoping I don't crack my head open in the process. LOL

Please don't buy a "party pole". Those are only good for walking around and posing. They really aren't made for throwing tricks. It would be better to wait longer and invest in a good pole.
tarah · 12/16/2011
i agree with everyone on the party pole - not safe. i would go for the lil mynx. good luck! :)

Look for a used pole! I think you're on the right path w Craigslist, you can also visit pole related forums and post a wanted ad! Someone may be upgrading and want to sell their old poles. I just bought one from someone on this sight.

My lilmynx rotator was only 300 shipping and all and it's a great quality pole! Very sturdy and one piece not flimsy like the party poles, and comparable to x pole I believe, but at a better price. I love mine because it's powder coated which mens grippy. And they do custom sizes for ur ceiling height! I wanted a brass x pole for the grip and quality but Cudnt afford it so I went with lilmynx and I am very very pleased with it!! Lilmynx.com also the rotator is a 2 in one pole they also hav the non spinnin powder coated which r only 240 I think. Good luck :)
PixiLouBell · 12/17/2011
Also make sure u think of the size best for u! (45mm or 50mm) if u hav small hands def consider a 45 so u can grip it well! ;)
Esperonza16 · 12/19/2011
Yes I definetly have little hands....lol I will take all of the advice and look all over for a pole, thank you all! :) My old man offered to make me one but I said NOOO lol I've seen too many videos of homemade poles gone wrong. LOL

Hey also check out platinum stages they hav some good prices and great poles!! I'm lookin at a brass on there because I found out x pole is just a brass coating. P.S. r 100% brass n brass is the grippiest! Prices r good on the poles not the stages lol
Esperonza16 · 12/19/2011
Ok I will do that. Thank you! :D
Esperonza16 · 12/19/2011
Oh and on Craigslist....what should I type in to search for a pole? Lil mynx and x-poles don't come up. At least not in my area so..... What else should I search for pole wise?
jade s · 12/19/2011
Try dance pole or fitness pole. Good luck!
Esperonza16 · 12/19/2011
Thank you that helps. I did find a flirty girl fitness pole but I'm guessing that another "party pole" huh? 🙁
PixiLouBell · 12/19/2011
im not sure how sturdy the flirty girl ones r, i had looked into those too but cant remember why i decided against it. look it up online and read reviews or go to the flirty girl site to read more about it. i would think it is sturdy because its for fitness but cant remember, do some research u shud get your answer ;)
Dancing Paws · 12/19/2011
flirty girl is a party pole. Right now, Platinum stages has a sale on their 1 piece, under 10 foot poles. On all other poles, Veeners get 10% off. I recommend getting their 1 pice pole. It is awesome! I am not a big fan of multi -pieces. Lil mynx is also a 1 piece.
LizzyLiz810 · 12/19/2011
I love platinum stages one piece pole. I have the permanents. I also have their EZ Connect Star Stand Alone and its awesome! Its very stable. Watch the video on my profile if you have ever had doubts about it. 🙂
Veena · 12/19/2011
Yep that is a "party pole" :/ We have a great deal on X poles here and our X pole Wizard will help you select the right pole for you. ❤️ https://www.studioveena.com/shopping
Esperonza16 · 12/19/2011
Thank you Veena I will look into that.😁 Thank you everyone for your help. It looks like I'll be saving up to try and get an x-pole from here since that seems to be my best option at the moment. Unless something comes up in my other thread of course. Have a good holiday everyone!!!🎅
PixiLouBell · 12/19/2011
I'm pretty sure lil mynx is cheaper than x pole! Or their stainless steel is same price as powder coated lil mynx but I hear steel is slick! So consider the finish of the pole also...ok I'll try to leave u alone now lol!
