Need Thigh High Boot Help!

I'm participating in a 6-week workshop in which thigh high boots are part of the required uniform. I'm not sure which kind will work for me. I'm short (5'2) and, not to put myself down, my legs are wide and I have heavy thighs. My instructor suggested the lace up kind. I had ordered the Pleaser Delight 3026, but they came to my house today and were not a winner. Because my legs aren't long, they hit up against my crotch 😲 . Also, the width of my leg combined with the fact that the laces are on the front, leaves me with a weird drifting boot tongue because I can't close the sides of the boot tight enough. Not very sexy ❗ Does anybody know what will work for someone a bit plus size? Is it better if they lace up the back or side of the boot?
