Hi ladies! I'm trying to figure out the name for a new-to-me move I encountered recently. You start out in an upright crucifix, hook one arm in an elbow grip (same arm as the front leg), then extend the back leg out behind you (optionally grabbing the ankle with your free hand). Any ideas? Thanks!

From your description, I've heard of it called a "Skater" on the Pole Dance Community Syllabus. I also seem to remember a similar one called a "Falling Star" from the Pole People DVD's, though that one is done while slowly sliding down the pole (hence the "falling" part). :)

Thanks Runemist, that got me on the right track. I found a tutorial for "Skater" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0tcJztuF_U It's _almost_ the same thing. The main difference is she's taking her front leg off the pole and using the back leg as her POC. The move I was shown is the opposite. Does that have a name? Or is it just a more advanced variation of the skater? (It's much harder to keep yourself from sliding down the pole when the legs are switched.)
I think that it would just be considered a variation of the same move- similar to which leg you prefer on top when doing a cross ankle release, or which hand is holding you up in some moves. Personally, I would see it being REALLY difficult to hold on with the back of your leg wrapped around the pole, instead of the front of the leg, such as in that video. You really need to press hard into the pole when doing this move, and lean back so that your elbow holds as well. One of those push-pull things! However, if you DO figure out how to do it with your front leg, please let me know! Post a tutorial! It would be great to see more of that move :)

You really need to press the belly into the pole when the legs reversed are reversed. I tried doing it with my shirt on initially and just slid down the pole.
@kasanya the version you are talking about is much easier on spin mode over static. ☺ Try it!

You know, you're absolutely right. It was taught to us as a static pole trick, but it would be way easier and really pretty on spin. Thanks for the suggestion!
