Muscles "unlocking"

I've had trouble with my left hip for over a decade. If I am in a knee to chest type position with my legs close together, there is a big pain in my hip joint. My hamstrings are super tight, and quads are fairly weak. So I work on stretching and trying to figure out how to recruit the quads into doing work they don't want to. 😲 I've also done a lot with getting my pelvis closer to a normal tilt. I've been aware of the issue for a long time, and have slowly been seeing improvements. Night before last "something" happened in the hip. There wasn't a distinct event, but after a practice, it was really sore. I also got some shooting pains when I walked from my quads. Even with the unpleasant feelings, though, it felt like something had released, and there is an indention just below my hip bone that was never there before. Took a class (FUN) last night, and I was afraid the hip might get worse, but it got better. No more sharp pains. 🥂 It seems like I have a greater range of motion now, too. Trouble is... I'm supposed to compete in ten days, and my body is feeling completely different! I'm pretty sure it will be long term good, but why did it pick NOW to do it??? (I guess better than waiting until I was on stage, though...) Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen? How did it effect your poling? How long did it take you to get used to your "new" body? Thanks so much! Mindy
