Haha aww Serzi sorry if I've ruined it for you, it's just what immediately springs to mind whenever I see anyone doing those leg movements. Like a cockroach or something in its final moments, on its back desperately trying to roll back onto its front...I'm probably not making this better am I? :P

LOL No, I think the mental image is hilarious! Kinda freed me from the spell that move had over me. Was kinda obsessing over it at one point, like "It's so simple! Whyyyyyy can't I do this!". xD
Vagina monster is not just the wiggling legs, it is the walking on your butt with your legs in a V shape. When you do this your legs move to get the momentum. LOL At a strip club I went to the girls called that a "crab walk", which always kinda disturbed me.
I am not really sure where the whole "vagina monster" name came from but I want to say it happened in Detroit.
Doesn't Veena call it the booty scoot? It's a pretty adorable name for an otherwise dirty move!

Ahahaha!! x'D Okay, I officially love this thread now! Imagine someone doing this vagina-monster move and a nun throwing holy water on them going "The power of Christ compells you!" I'm depraved, but somehow I find that hilariously sexy. Lmao!

I just realized, I think Janeiro is an awkward looking move. I don't hate or dislike it exactly, but it has very unusual lines and I can see how some polers may dislike it. Btw, I dub the Janeiro as the official Pole Move of 2012, Superpain as the move of 2011, and the Iron X as move of 2010.

Yes, I call vagina monster booty scoot! lol I LOVE the Janeiro especially with legs in split variation. I see why some wouldn't like the "wiggly legs" or open V leg positions but I think they can be done tastefully, they don't always have to come across as vulgar, at least not to me. Maybe I'm just that dirty! HA! 🙊 I don't like the Twisted grip lift, it's over done, (I'm far more impressed with cartwheel mounts and Handsprings) and not something that most dancers who value their joints should be doing. Leave the Twisted Grips to the Professionals. 😉
I know it takes amazing strength, but I'm getting kind of sick with the Iron X. I've seen it a lot lately in competitions and general dancing videos. Impressive, but I don't think it looks pretty or flows well in a dance (the best professionals that dance with that move still seem to do it more to showcase their crazy strength rather than using it to flow and tell a story). But I'm sure if I could do that move I'd be doing it in every single dance--ha! 😀
I don't 'get' the genie. It doesn't look good to me at all, plus it's harder than the knee hold?!?
I like Genie as a transition move, but not a pose.
Oh, I also don't like the one-legged climb. It looks like a cheap stripper move to me. I have never seen it done where it looked pretty.

Yeah I think ALL the moves in the first video I uploaded are on this list somewhere. I was like "wow really? chair spin ugly? wrist sit vulgar? waaa" lol

I like the vulgar stripper moves too. The pole studio I started at was very elegant and I learned so much about how to dance with beauty. Then I joined SV and was thrilled to see someone could teach me how to bounce my buttcheeks! Pole has something for everyone and some of us love it all :) Veena, the one legged climb looks badass to me. And I happen to think strippers are badass. So it fits!
