More ignorance...

I told a friend of mine on Facebook that I was going to the USPDF National Pole Dancing Championships. Apparently she didn't realize that I pole danced because this is the comment she left: "What, explain. LOL. Chicks on poles competing to see who reaches the top or how far there legs can spread while they swing? 🙂" 😮 😲 😈 I had to restrain myself from chewing her out... I very bluntly said it was an art and just because there was a pole involved doesn't mean that you have to dance like a stripper, and pasted a couple links to my favorite pole vids from YouTube. *sigh*

I am so very lucky that most of my friends think pole dancing is the coolest. thing. evar. And those who don't are wise enough to keep their big yaps shut. Little does she know that you could break her in half with your strong poling arms and shoulders! Mwahahahahahaaaa!!!!! 💪

Ask her how far her SHRUNKEN HIP FLEXORS will allow her own legs to spread. That made me furious. Not because of the insinuation, but because of HOW HARD IT IS TO SPREAD ONE'S LEGS WHILE HOLDING UP ONE'S BODY. There should be a competition about that. Felix wins again, sure. But jeez. I've been dancing for over a year, and I have yet to be strong enough to hold my legs at no angle smaller than 90 degrees, legs to body, and no angle larger than 140, leg to leg. I dare you to say something rude to her. DOUBLE DOG DARE.

Lol thanks, girls 😉 And Amcut, you're hilarious... I love you. Under the circumstances I'm trying to be nice, but if she responds again in a very not-nice way, I'm so letting loose on her... And I can't hold my legs up more than a 90 degree angle when they're straight, either, and I'm so far from a middle split I don't want to know how small the angle is between my legs... The world is full of not-Felixes, lol 🙂 😂 I'll let you guys know what she says.

I am constantly having to respond to my friends who don't understand..... I posted one picture on facebook, of CKR I think, because I was so excited to have gotten the trick. I was also curious as to what kind of responses I would get. Here's a real gem: Nick: Your father is probably somewhere having a heart attack... But hey! Nice stripper moves! lol Me: I do not do "stripper moves"! This is pole dancing not only for fun, but for fitness, and you ain't gonna see them clothes come off! Nick: lol whatever you tell yourself sweetheart, thems be stripper moves! Strippers are fit! If they were not fit nobody would give em singles! And on another picture: Me: I don't strip. =) I just make pretty shapes on a vertical pole with all of my naughty bits covered. Devin: aka strip =P Me: "strip" v. stripped, strip·ping, strips 1. a. To remove clothing or covering from. b. To deprive of (clothing or covering). Do you see the removal of clothing happening here? Will you EVER see the removal of clothing? No. Get your terminology correct, please. ^_^ Devin: almost.. and i cant say the other answer =P Nick: Girl, just because you ain't takin them clothes off does not mean those aren't stripper moves. Me: Some strippers use these pole dance moves, yes. But that does not define them as strictly "stripper moves". I'm standing my ground on this. Nick: stand on that ground all you want, but if you look down and notice the ground is a stage with a pole on it and lots of dudes with singles all around it, do not be surprised LOL Me: not if it's an x-stage and no singles or men to be seen Now... Nick is a jokester and I'm sure he doesn't mean slander, but it really annoyed me. These aren't the only examples, but I am sick of being judged. I am stronger than these two boys, I'm sure I am. And they can stand there and watch me do a military pull-up and try to tell me they're better than me if they want, but in the end I'm the healthier, stronger, sexier person.

a closed mind is a terrible thing to use well that's why there's places like studioveena and I would be happy to be your FB friend and talk about the competition anytime. Cheers I may come to NY but if not I sure hope to hear many great stories about it 😀

😂 😂 all the way to the bank 😂 when i defend what i do to shallow people (teach Pole dance) i remember all wonderful strong and supportive friends i have made all over the world adn leave the nay sayers behind. to talk behind my back knowing in my heart that only insecure women would talk about other women and thoose arent the kind i need or want in my life.. hope you enjoy NY have fun!!!! agreed! Ive only had to deal with the "your nothing but an ametur stripper" once. I always think of the song Breakdown by Seether, mostly the chours: So break me down if it makes you feel right And hate me now if it keeps you alright You can't break me down if it takes all your might 'cause I'm so much more than meets the eye I also adopt my other policy - WTF-ever!

I feel lucky to not have had this type of problem on facebook. I think it's because all of my friends and family know I pole and how serious I am about it. All of my guy friends respect the strength it takes and alot of my female friends either wanna try it someday or have no interest but appreciate the skill it takes to do it. I think once your friend realizes what it is and what we do and that it's a serious hobby for you, you'll retract her statement. Especially after she watches those videos. LOL

I've been known to get strange looks for a long time now because I've been dying my hair crazy colors and then I started getting tattoos and piercings and now I've started poling dancing so people just have a field day judging me...my bf is covered in tattoos from the neck all the way to his hands and wears eye makeup so when we're together we get some pretty interesting reactions... 😀 It makes me angry people judge but at the same time I feel bad they are so ignorant and unhappy and will never know the joys of pole dancing or having pink hair. Also not to be judgemental myself but I notice the people who say negative things are the ones who don't really have their own crap together..my aunt has made a lot of negative comments about my dancing but she has a 14 year old daughter who might be pregnant and an 18 year old son who has been caught drinking underage a bunch of times...but I'm the naughty pole dancer!!! 🤔

I too feel lucky to not encounter this much...well except from my husband (long story)...and the few times it has happened it has always been someone under the age of 30 (no offense) that seemed to make the "your a whore" kind of statements.

If people don't understand how pole dancing is not an art after you explain to them in crystal clear what it is exactly, than it's not worth your time explaining anything else to them. I always thought pole dancing was trashy and for attention whores but I realized on my own, after watching video after video on YouTube that it's NOT trashy at all. Also, they don't realize that a pole dancer has to wear less so their body "sticks" to the pole, it has nothing to do with trying to be a slut. Sure, some may wear a lacey bra and a thong while they pole but who cares? If a woman wants to feel sexah and show off what poling has done for her body while they dance and practice their moves then good for them, it's non of anyone's business but your own. I had someone comment on 1 of my youtube pole videos yesterday saying "hey its a poll dancer thats flexible. who cares shes just a slut anyway. " its so wrong that we get judged,but i dont think wel change some peoples views 🙁 x

" its so wrong that we get judged,but i dont think wel change some peoples views 🙁 x 🙂 I can most guarantee that person isn't flexible at all and saw how awesome you were in the video and couldn't resist making a nasty comment to make them feel better. That's usually what people who are insecure about themselves do, go out of their way to put others down. That's exactly what this person did, spent at least two minutes typing up a rude comment when they could have spent that time searching for ways to become flexible. The person doesn't even KNOW you so how the hell would they know if you're a slut or not?. It's a lot easier to do this rather than get off their a$$ and work on happyfying themselves. I feel sorry for those who do this.

Just for an update: my friend never responded. She's been on Facebook several times so I know she had to at least have read my comment, even if she didn't see the videos.
