the location of the national championship links to an all-nude stripclub.
It looks like every single competition is held at a strip club.

I just looked over their website briefly and a couple things jumped out at me: 1) All of the venues appear to be strip clubs. 2) Rule #10 states "contestants will disrobe to the legal limits of the host venue during their performance." 3) Anyone who wins first place at any level of the competition "will agree to a national feature tour." So, what I'm taking away from the website is that this competition is aimed exclusively at people who are willing to work as strippers. If that's something you're not comfortable with, then definitely steer clear. For anyone still interested in entering the competition, it would probably be a good idea to look into the company handling the features tour. It would really suck to be obligated to work for sketchy clubs.

I believe they are affiliated with performers that work in stripclubs and such. So if your interested in exotic style work might be worth looking into. There are a lot of comps out there now so its good to do your research before you apply. 🌸

This is run by Pole Champ - Nicole Kash and is sponsored by x-pole. It looks to be an up and up competition it's just aimed at exotic dancers. They have rules, regulations and they tell what you're being judged on. I don't think it's a big deal that they have an entry fee - most things do, I mean if you even want to audition for uspdf you have become a member and pay the yearly fee. It looks like a great competition for some of our awesome exotic dancers :D

good point Charley, Also in cheerleading competitions you pay a fee to enter as well. It helps cover costs for the event. I was gonna check it out but im not big on getting naked in public and its in Philly for me, thats just not gonna work.

@Smoking angel - yes there will be a good amount of pole work as the competitors are judged on their pole tricks too. The winner gets a 10 city feature so I think the talent is going to be amazing! If you guys aren't familiar with Pole Champ - she was the pole dancer who was on America's Got Talent - she herself is a very advanced pole dancer and she has trained Diana Nguyen who was one of the USPDF East Coast finalists - also known on yt as Christina Agguchi. If I was still able to do those kinds of things I would jump on this in a heartbeat but I don't dance at a club and a 10 city feature just isn't something I can/could do right now. But this comp still deserves our support whether by going if we are nearby or participating. We have 2 feature dancers who train with us when they are in town - I'm passing this along to them.
question for polechamp - still planning on going, maybe bringing some other polers. is it customary to tip during a competition? do they usually start on time? I know amateur nights tend to start late and most of us have early moring day jobs. thanks!
Hey smokingangel! Great questions! It is customary to tip in a strip club competition. However, you will find that most of the competitors will not stop their show to take tips... in fact, I will advise against it to make sure that their performaces are smooth. However, most tipping is done in the form of setting $ on the stage or 'makin it rain' (which really amps up the ladies performances!). I can't tell you how many times I have seen a competitor take it to the next level with the crowd gets her going! Usually competitions dont start exactly on time. I have not run a competition at Dreamgirls ( I dont know if this is the event you were planning to attend?) before but this company has run many of them so they will know what will be best. However, the start time will depend on how many competitiors we have. We will most likely start on time if we have 10 or more competitors as we will need to fit them all in. Hope that helps!
Miss Pole Champ USA is a SCAM. The girls who work at the clubs perform nude and win regardless of talent. It is a STRIPPING contest NOT pole dancing. I drove out from Los Angeles only to have me and the 5 girls who did not work at the hosting club not even place, which is funny since 5 people got on the pole and we made up 4 of them. The girl who won deserved a prize, but her win was cheap because of the rauchy, disgusting display of this so called "competition." The judges with pole experience magically couldn't come, so they were replaced by 4 guys who run a party bus company. None of the judges knew anything about pole dancing and even commented to customers that they had no idea what they were supposed to be judging. The fact that ONLY girls who worked at the club won anything, even though all the second prize winner did was a layout... about 10 times, its pretty clear this is a scam to bring attention to Nic's favorite clubs. Then she had the audasity to tell me I looked nearvous and my moves were poorly executed. At least I HAD moves. But this isn't about me, its about the five LEGIT pole dancers who didn't even place. I was also informed I probably didn't place because I "didn't climb to the top of the pole." A pole 16" tall, NOT an x-pole and that id never seen or been on before By the way, the owner of the club gave the judges "gifts" at the competition. We were also not allowed by the venue to see or walk on the stage beforehand, but clearly the girls who worked there would already know the stage. There will be several releases and blogs about this I am sure, but I will tell you this, from experience: IF YOU HAVE REAL POLE TRICKS AND ANY ONCE OF DIGNITY AND SELF RESPECT, DO NOT ENTER THIS. YOU WILL ONLY LOSE TO GIRLS WHO GO NAKED AND RUB THEIR VAGINAS IN THE JUDGES FACES, YET ONLY KNOW ONE POLE TRICK.
Aside from this, I am absolutely disgusted that a so called "pole champ" wouls want to portray pole dancing this way, and basically confirm to all our critics that we are all strippers with no artistic or athletic ability.

ErinMarie...It seems that everyone who is on this thread understands that the comp is in a Strip club setting. Also looking at the competition site, it seems pretty clear that the girls who would benefit from competing are exotic dancers. I personally have no problem with exotic professionals using the terms pole dance. Jamilla, Felix and Fawnia all have won NUDE compitions in the past!
Veena this is called MISS POLE DANCE not Miss Hottie stripper. This would imply POLE DANCING is required. Also, I'm sure you haven't looked at the score sheet since seem to enjoy being missinformed so you can start rediculous arguments with me, but 50% of the score was based on POLE only 30% on sensuality and 20% on overall, so how someone who doesn't know how to pole dance can place is beyond me. Now that I'm done defending myself for the second night in a row against a so called pole professional, I wil leave with nothing else to say. It seems people on this website don't want actual answers or opinions that do not fit with Veena's amazingly magical ways. Why you continuous start arguments with me over trivial things when I am right I don't know, but I am simply trying to inform the girls who asked as to what exactly this competition is, a compeition for waving your naked butt. Girls who got on the pole also got totally naked but didn't place either.
Wow Erin that was ridiculously rude....why are you even on this site if you have that kind of stuff to say about Veena? Also, you were the one that started picking the fights so in no way was anyone trying to start arguing with you. I think you should have reconsidered how you went about trying to "warn" everyone about this competition, you really just sound like a bitter sore loser, and you really shouldn't take it out on any of us.
Clearly anyone who wants to enter knowing all that, more power to you, but the people who were asking didn't sound like they wanted to competing against strippers in a nude humping contest. I'm simply telling you what this ACTUALLY is since miss pole champ clearly misrepresented it.

You can "inform" someone without behaving rudely!!! We have talked about the nature of this completion in a few threads on here and have discussed that it is held in a strip club ect. As I said on your blog....its up to the person entering a competition to do their research as to who runs it and what kind of competition it in. All I see from your post is unnecessary rudeness.
ErinMarieOMG- it seems pretty clar that this competition was aimed at exotic dancers, I don't think that was ever NOT clearly stated. I know that I would never even place in such a competition because I have no experience whatsoever in being an exotic dancer even though I have pole skills. I am not really sure what you were expecting.... And where do you even get off going off on the person who started this site? I do not see Veena starting a fight with you, she just restated what had already been discussed.....this was a competition aimed at EXOTIC DANCERS...if you were not an exotic dancer why would you even enter?
20. Contestants will be judged on the basis of Pole Tricks for 50 points (executions, transitions, originality, difficulty, flexibility & sex appeal), Appearance for 30 points (costume, hair/makeup, body & sensuality), and Overall Performance for 20 points; totalling 100 points. 10. Contestants will disrobe to the legal limits of the host venue during their performance. I bolded 2 points here....not every pole performer has sex appeal or is sensuous. If you had neither or were nervous to be disrobed I can see that as scoring low in these 2 fields. Again, I can dance but would suck at a competition like this. I just do not have what it takes to be an exotic dancer.
@ErinMarieOMG - Veena was not being argumentative she was being diplomatic. It is important that we all understand that there is no singular definition of what constitutes quality pole dance. Perhaps the judges made a bad decision and perhaps they didn't, but to outright call the competition a scam in a public forum with no empirical data is libelous. What the judges were looking for in the pole dance segment is going to be very subjective, especially when the competition is held at a gentlemen's club. We want StudioVeena.Com to be a positive supportive community. Please refrain from lashing out at those who upset you and provide thoughtful commentary. Also refrain from trivializing the statements of any member of the site including Veena. Your previous statement was rude and uncalled for, Veena works hard to support the members of this site and she did not deserve the statement that you made.

Furthermore, this quote is utterly ridiculous. Without strippers, there would be no pole dance. I suggest you remember that next time you decide to take your venom out on hard-working ladies who already have enough to endure. Strippers and artistic/athletic ability are not mutually exclusive. I agree with what the others have said. You sound like a jealous, sore loser. :)
