Lil mynx black power coated rotator/grip

Ok... So I just bought my new dance pole 2 months ago... A lil mynx black powder coated rotator. I've been dancing pole/exotic for just over a year now. I used to use a self made pole from a hardware store at the "wannabe" studio I used for the first year... Lol never even learned spins/climbs/or inverts there.... But, I did learn self confidence which is great! So, recently I went to a "real" pole class in NYC and in 2 classes I learned how to climb and do more advanced spins. (been self teaching on you tube)... SO... The pole I used in NYC I was sooo impressed with because my grip on the pole was fantastic!!! I couldn't believe it!! All this time, I thought I just didn't have any upper body strength, but I do! I climbed 12 feet... No problem!! NOW, my concern is that when I use my lol mynx black powder coatd pole I have 0 grip! Yes, I said zero! I purchased this pole because reviews online state it's got super grip! I called the owner of the company last week and explained my zero grip! He was shocked because he said he's never had complaints on this! He sent me a 2nd pole... Got it today, and it's the same thing! Grrrrrrr LOL any one have any suggestions or ideas? Or anyone else have this issue? Please, any Advise will help! Thanks in advance

Can't help you out with this one. I have a hot pink LM and for me many times it is too grippy. I am surprised that yours is so slippery.

I have a stainless steel lil mynx and it is sooooo slippery. That seems to be the story with stainless steel though. I've heard the powder coated are grippier than stainless, but many people have said that they aren't as grippy as chrome or of course brass. Do you know what kind of poles you learned on in your classes? I learn on brass at my studio, then come home and attempt the moves on my pole and slip and slide everywhere. One thing I've noticed with my lil mynx is that it is virtually impossible to do anything on it if it isn't really warmed up. The difference is night and day. Spend about 15 minutes warming yourself and the pole ( I do walking and spins to warm it) and that will give you much more grip than you had when it was cold. Good luck!

Stainless LM's are the SLIPPIEST poles on the market in my opinion. I have a black LM that I haven't used in forever but it had decent grip too grippy sometimes. Back then I had a n issue with sweating quite a lot and thus not being able to do much but since I have started doing warm ups and I have also started using an anti perspirant on my hands.

I so feel your pain on this one. I'm a superstar on brass. On my own stainless steel LM I look like an idiot half the time. Unless it is a nice humid day out and I don't have the air on. Then I can finally stick on my pole. Have danced on chrome, it is better then the stainless but not as good as brass for me. Powder coated is the only one I haven't played on.

My SS Lil Mynx was way way way too slippery for me so i bought a black powder coated rotater and I love it...try warming up your pole space some if you can. Also all newer poles really do have a bit of a *break in* period.
