Anyone have lighting ideas for pictures or video? Diy 3pt lighting with clamp lights our something diy so it's cheap?

You can usually rent lights extension chords and stands for a low price along with a mini fog machine. I like these lights especially http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ItemNumber=1780. I've done it before and I think the total for everything was around $80
You should be able to from Guitar Center or Musicians Friend get decent light sets for reasonable prices. The fancier systems will cost a bit more. My fave which hubby bought me, was the Chauvet Mushroom light. American DJ is a another good brand and I have a light bank from them too.
