Learning pirouettes

Hi girls, I find pirouettes the most graceful and good looking transitional moves, naturally linking spins, tricks, etc. But for some small brain reason 😉, I seem to not get them at all ;(( I tried Jana Jordan pirouettes from http://www.foundrymusic.com/media/displaymedia.cfm/id/16405/page/show_video_number_16405.html wich I like very much. It's a topless pole dance of Jana Jordan. Hope you'll not find it unnapropried, her pirouettes is all I'm interested in. Can we break a move into some structured, explained technique so my brain might get it? Many thanx! 🌸

I agree with you, I love pirouettes! I learned to do them from Bobbi's videos. It's just basically a step and turn. She calls it the basic 'Kate Moss'. Once you get the first steps it's so easy to build on, to add a full turn and then go easily into spins....I wish I had a better way to explain it but you basically step forward with your outside leg, pick up your inside leg and go under your arm. ......off to check out the vid you posted! 🌸

Ive always had trouble with these and i did ballet for a while a couple of years back,they look great,i can get some good spins when i have socks on the laminante flooring 🙂 but with heels i dont know if it will look any good,its not good if the floor stops ur spin,but in general i always spin the wrong way to how my hands are placed Duhh lol Guessits just practice and lots of video watching. x

Ooooh, thanks for posting that link. She's got an awesome flow about her turns and she really uses her body and hair as emphasis! Take a look at Starrgrrrl's vids--in my opinion, her footwork is really spectacular. It's like she's continuously linking her movements together very seemlessly and effortlessly. It makes my jaw drop every time I watch her! Have fun with the pirouettes--remember to go the other way when you get dizzy!!!!

It looks like Veena has a Pole Turns tutorial in her lessons archive. I also searched on youtube "pirouettes, pole turns" and found a really good video by DivineMovement in which she did for her own sister. I took a class as well and that is where the hand placement really clicked for me. I did my own little tutorial for my bestfriend back when I was taking classes but I will have to search through my own video archive to see if I still have it or if I deleted them. I remember I got really into it with the hand movement and the camera. LOL. 😂 ☀️
