Kicking into an Invert Stance

It seems like this is greatly debated so I wasn't sure which is the way to go. From viewing youtube clips, some tell you to use the momentum from kicking to get into the invert stance, yet others seem to say that you shouldn't be kicking at all? I can't imagine I would ever be able to get up there without kicking, so which is the way to go?

The injury is so true... funny irony...my first pole teacher taught to kick and she was practicing while in class one day and injured herself do a kick invert. It wasn't funny that she injured herself...just that its shows how the correct way is the only way. =) good luck! you'll get there!!
