I thought it would be nice to know how many of us older ladies there are on SV...I haven't meet any yet that I know of. I'm 53 will be 54 New Years Eve.

I second that!!! It's the weight lifting, I'm sooo in love with the weight room, LOL!!! Now if I could just get the clean eats down I'd be good ;o) I'm 32 now and I just hope I age as well as you Lilbit!

Thanks ladies! I know with lifting and clean eating 6 times a day it has made a huge difference in my life...I looked like SH*T before....sometimes I wish it didn't take me til I was almost 50 to start getting fit...but if I were to change anything I wouldn't be where I am now...and I like where I am now! LOL
I will be 48 in two months 🤸 so that means I'm almost fifty! I am loving being this age because: my kids have grown into fun, responsible, caring adults, I have an amazing husband, I have a job I love and look forward to every day and I have a pole 😀. I am healthy, hot (at times, literally!) and humourous--as well as overly fond of alliteration. Cheers to you, lilbit, with your strong, kickass spins and confident sensuality. You rock! 🫡

Lilbit....you are the reason why I have gotten OBSESSED with getting into the best possible shape ever! I am surrounded by people in their 50's that do nothing but complain about being "old" and that they can't lose weight or this that or the other because of their age! I love seeing stories like yours that truly inspire me to become my best and to maintain it through out mylife!! I've been thinking about showing your pics to my mom to kind of say "see...you can do this and your not old!" I don't want to be one of those that say "just wait till your fifty then you'll understand". I get told that A LOT and I hate it!! lol Keep on rockin it!!

I've alway had a fear of being unable to do active things when I get older because of people who do just that...I thought it was just the way it was gonna be!! WOW! Didn't expect so many responses on this topic! LOL You ladies totally rock...to the younger ladies...you give me the courage to keep pushing myself...and to the ladies closer to my age..KEEP ROCKIN IT!! cause we have to show the rest of the world that there is life worth getting off your butts for!! I started this thread because I don't have any friends my age where I live, I've been rejected by the women of my community because they don't approve of how I dress, act, or live. I have no problem with that....I happen to like myself and I'm happy with what I do...I have been embraced by the younger generations and they support and encourage me...my adult children are awesome as well!! And EVERYONE on SV has contributed to my mental health in a very positive way...TY ladies and gents...and a HUGE TY to VEENA for giving me the extra little push I needed a few years back. I intend to lift, pole, and step on stage in 2010 at the young age of 54 for my 1st Figure Competition I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
Hello...not 50 yet...but working on it - I am 41. One of my pole teachers just turned 50 recently and she rocks! My thoughts are if you feel old - then you act old and don't do all of the fun things that keep your body and mind young. Besides while maybe 50 seemed *old* when I was 15 - it's sure doesn't fit into my vocab as *old* now...talk to me at 75 😉
I agree with everyone else, you are only as old as you think. What an inspiration you all are!! I am 39 and PROUD of the experience I've gained in life and the kick-ass things I can do with my body. May be a little stiffer and take a little longer to warm up than someone 22, but I can still rock it. And I regularly teach girls in their 20s, and they're impressed with what I can do, no matter what my age. 😜
Great thread! I'm turning 39 in a few weeks, but I felt about 100 when I first started poling a year ago. I thought I'd never be able to do an invert and chalked it up to my age. Seemed the average poler was 25. But I kept at it, inspired in part by some of my fellow hot mamas here, partly by my desire to keep up with my 27 yo hubby, and partly cause I spent a fortune on that pole! Once the weight started coming off and the muscles started building, I realized I had been just WAAAAAY outta shape. The moves are coming slowly but surely. I may get more injuries than the younger ones, but I can handle pain better (childbirth puts things in perspective!). Keeping active keeps you young, no doubt about it!

hey ladies! this is very embarrasing... 🙄 i´d like to apologize for lying about my age... 😳 😳 😳 when i first started lurking on this site it seemed as if all the girls were in their early 20´s, and when i got up the nerve to introduce myself and participate in the forum i just wanted to fit in. i certainly don´t look or feel my age(well, yeah i have more aches and pains and am a bit stiffer, but ). i´m very energetic and have great skin so if i´ve slept well most people think i´m 29/30. i date younger guys and mostly hang out with younger people because the ones my age are generaly realy old and boring (couch potatoes). anyway more and more older women have become members and everyone is so supportive and special and talented so now i just feel stupid about the whole thing. for months ive been wanting to confess...so on my profile where it says 28 just add on another 10 yrs. and thanks lilbit because you are an inspiration to not only us poledancers but also to women in general!!!! truly sorry, hope you all will forgive my foolishness. big hugs 🌸 frida 🌸
you are my new hero !! i will be 52 in january, just discovered pole in june but sooooooooooo hooked. in fact, my friend and i are thinking about opening our own studio, just so's we can get a better quality of instruction... 😂

Hey Frida- welcome to the ole ladies club!! 😛 😛 Seriously, kudos to you for "coming out"! 🥂 It can be difficult to not fit into the sterotypical idea of what "your age" is supposed to look like/act like. I look at the other moms at my kids' schools and can't imagine what we have in common besides children. It used to bother me when people thought I was so much younger, but I'm loving it the closer I get to 40!
Thank gosh for this thread! I was just in a chat room last night and asked the girls there is I was the oldest poler on this site. I'm going to be 42 next month but feel just the same as I did in my 20's. My life is sure different from my 20's (marriage, kids, career) but I don't feel any older, know what I mean? I've been poling for about 3-1/2 years and can do many moves that young ones in class can't do. In fact, I'm teaching them how to do them! 😂 Lilbit - I just took a look at your profile and pics and ... Dang, girl! You look good!
