itac not so sticky anymore

Hi all, I purchased itac a while back to help with stick on my home pole since it's so temp sensitive. It worked great initially, esp in combo with white distilled vinegar. Now this may seem strange, but I feel like the more I use it, the less effective it's becoming and often even makes it slippery! Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't tried dry hands yet because I don't feel my hands are especially sweaty, but maybe that's the way to go?

Most will not use itac on their hands due to slippiness and only use it on body parts. Are you sure your issue is not due to lack of strength?

Chemgoddess-def not due to lack of strength because when I go to the studio, I have no problem sticking the moves. It's just my home pole that is slippery at the time of yr. I don't put itac on my hands, just my legs.. Though I guess that naturally in order to apply it, some residual stays on my hands. Littlelindsay, thank you for the tips, I will check those products out! Appreciate your help!

Which itac do you have? From my personal experience recently, the new "extra strength" itac is like a greasy oil mess. While the "normal" formula is like super glue. I know there are posts on that very subject trying to determine if itac changed something or not. So that might be something to keep in mind.

I use itac and haven't experienced thus yet *fingers crossed* I try to stay away from Dry Hands....it took the skin off during a combo spin lol! When it sticks it sticks! I will admit to using dry hands if I want to do a quick static move. But moving around Ive always used itac. Would like to try others though just for variety.

I find the new Itac to be as littleEngine does, well actually I found both extra and reg strength mushy. Itac said the formula is the same and that they are sending me samples in case it was just a difference with the batch. They also asked that I let them know if the samples made a helped with my grip problems. @Fly With my old container wich was labled level 2 I didn't notice any gradual decrease in stick but it did dry out over time. Did the weather cool off in your area? Do you think maybe a change in seasonal temperatures might have caused a change in grip? Over here when it gets cold my skin gets sooo dry and makes me slip.

Cherished- weather has been the about the same, got the pole in November, so pretty much fall/winter. i suppose its just really inconsistent. when i use it at the studio for what i think will be extra stick, it turns slippery instead. at home, mixed results. guessing there are just a lot of varying factos that could contribute to its effectiveness like temperature, level of dryness vs moisture on my hands, etc. will try some of the other products suggested. THANKS EVERYONE for the feedback, i LOVE this site!! : )

i bought quantity of 3 ("extra strength) and all are not as tacky as my previous jars (level 2). i used to only need one application and now, i am having to reapply more than once during practice. visibly they are different in that the new stuff is not the same color. the new stuff feels fluffier and whipped- whereas the old stuff felt solid and gluey. initially, i suspected that they added fillers to the product to save money on ingredients. they use less tacky ingredient, we use more product to get sticky, they profit. but if they claim it's just a batch issue... i suppose time will tell. (**puckered lips and rolling eyes...**)

Maybe it becomes less sticky the older it gets?

@pfm: i actully feel as though the opposite would happen. it may become more sticky as it matures because it dries out slightly? I have been a faithful user of itac level 2, for over 2 years- i am 100% certain that what I have now is not what i've bought in the past.

Hi. I haven't tried the different strrengths of itac enough to comment, but I have noticed that itac works amazingly for me in a cold room on a chrome pole (never brass) and that when the room is warm, or (god forbid) humid, I experience the sticky mess everone is talking about. And...one other thing I've noticed is that the less itac I use, the more effective. I don't take it out of the tub with my fingertips so that my hands are free of it (I scoop it out wih my knuckle, and rub it on the chosen spots with the back of my hand), and put it on as thin as possible. That way if any comes off on the pole, it's too little an amount to cause problems.

I've noticed that my itac changes in texture if I leave it in my car and it's hot or cold outside, so I think it is temperature sensitive. Mine has also gotten less sticky and I'm pretty sure it's from being exposed to extreme temperatures as I tend to keep my pole bag in my car a lot.

I have a half container of the old formula itac left and I dread the day it runs out. I tried a newer formula itac at a studio and found it very slippy on my hands. It's definitely not the same thing! The old itac formula is amazing on my hands.

RedFox, totally GENIUS to scrape it out with your knuckles and apply to various body parts so the hands dont get overly sticky/slippery, etc. Such an easy, simple solution, like, duh! why didnt i think of that type of moment?!! Lol. To all the others, I have itac Level 2, normal solution, not extra strength or anything like that. I think the trick is just to use it on other parts and NOT the hands (at least for me). There were other people in a past discussion I had who use white distilled vinegar and I've found that to work really well too. Adds a little stick and moisture to the pole and to my hands which are DRY. Overall, great discussion, love hearing everyone's tips/suggestions.
