Instable ceiling- xpert

I have recently moved flat, and now have a fairly instable ceiling which seems to have no joists. I read somewhere about stabilizing a ceiling using a sheet of wood-does this work? Or is my only option to get the xfly for my A frame?

You ceiling has to have joists somewhere. That's what holds the weight of the roof or the next floor up. Finding them can be tricky. Try asking a mechanically inclined friend if you have one. Good luck! ☺
