In search of... garters! (recommendations)

I'm looking for not super fancy but workable garters that aren't too pricey. This is a secret, but I'm planning on working with them and making them into gifts for my pole instructors. This is the sort of thing I'm looking for, but I'm not too sure if I want to buy exactly these since they don't look too great in photos. Are they better looking in real life? I was like, "hmmm, those look like bodyzone garters!" Scroll down --> manufacturer : BodyZone. You can tell I do way too much shopping for work @_@ If you've ever seen their thongs, they're made out of the same material and are of the same quality. Which, while they might SEEM cheap because of their shiney glossy fabric, if you look at their stitching it's actually double stitched. I have thongs from almost a year ago by the same brand that have never shown so much as a loose thread. So durability is an A+ If you're looking for something thicker (I've never work a garter, so I'm not sure how thick they're supposed to be) as that strap is about an inch, I know Fredricks of Hollywood sells garters like they're hotcakes. You can also try online wedding superstores or any adult/stripper stores in your area. Hope this helps :3

If you can sew, I suggest just heading over to the fabric department of your local craft store. They have trims that already include elastic and make great garters. You could buy yards at a time for super cheap, then just cut and stitch.

Even making lace ones out of ribbon and elestic is really easy (if you have a sewing machine).

How long do you cut the elastic if you don't know how big someone's leg is? D:

I cut all elastic the same--15". It seems to be fine. You could make the elastic slightly longer though...I just would want to make sure they're snug enough to not slip.

Thanks sparrow. :) I might give it a go although my sewing abilities are nothing to speak of. I'll post the finished product once it's done (but for now, it's a secret-- shh!)

I'm sure you if you poke around online you could find some tutorials for garters, I made my own prom garter in high school and will most likely be making my bridal one as well. I sewed the elastic to one end of a long fabric tube that was longer than the elastic, scrunched the fabric tube down, and sewed the ends shut. from there you can easily hot glue lace to the back or sew it, just dont burn your fingers like i do every time! You could even make the tube solely with a hot glue gun instead of having to sew that. i think i glued a little charm on the front too. total cost was like $5 or less. about 2 years ago from lover's lane I got some super basic garters, basically just nice elastic, for $2. hope this helps some! good luck!
