Idea for new pole design... maybe

So... yeah, not sure why I'm sharing this but I was musing the other night about a design idea for a pole. But I got thinking about it and thought that it might be feasible, and was thinking about scenarios of pitching the idea to X-Pole etc. etc. (I daydream a lot 😂 ) I won't go into detail, but let's just say that it would solve the problem for those of us that can't make up their mind whether to get a 50 or 45 mm pole. 😉 So, what does everyone think? Email X-Pole (I say X because that's what I have and the idea branches off of their basic design) and say "hey I have an idea"? I'm worried that my idea might get stolen or that I wouldn't get credit for it... 🙁 But then again, it might not work or I won't do anything and the whole thing won't go anywhere. 😜

I don't know specifically about X Pole, but a lot of places don't like to accept unsolicited ideas (not even good ones) just because if XPole, for example, is currently thinking about and/or working on a similar idea, when they go to the market with it someone who sent in a similar idea might litigate. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a good idea, consider making your own unique pole business! 😀 "Foxy Poles" has a nice ring to it (and no I won't sue if that ever comes to be). 😉

Hmmm... thanks, Rubi. The problem with doing it on my own is that I would have no idea where to begin. 😲 It's very intimidating... It's not like you can just call a pole factory and say "Hey, can you make this?" and they do it. How would you go about doing something like that? 🤔

The only way to protect yourself and your "idea" would to legally patent it! Unfortunately, patents can be very tedious and expensive (if done correctly). And I think Rubi is correct...most companies don't appreciate "outsiders" throwing around ideas even if they are great...and I'm sure your's is pretty cool! I've thrown around some ideas myself...luckily I have easy access to machine shops and chemical platers/powder coaters as I am in R&D for the chemical plating industry...but it all takes $$$! Maybe someday in the future! lol Keep us updated on your plans!!

We do it all of the time for people...You just need to MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ALL OF YOUR PAPER WORK IN ORDER like Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure for example. 👍

I don't know what kind of paperwork I would need, no idea how to go about getting the actual designs made up so the people making it know what they're doing, and no clue who to call to actually make the thing. Not to mention I'd worry that the quality wouldn't turn out like what I would want it to be - I'd want my poles to be as good as X-Pole, Platinum Stages, Lil Mynx, etc. and not end up with a Peek-a-boo. 😲 Also I'd worry about getting accused of ripping off other pole manufacturers' ideas. Since I have an X-Pole, my idea might be eerily similar to an X-Pole design and they might not like that very much... 😕 I think I'm just going to have to sit down and Google search the heck out of this stuff, even though I'm still not really sure what to enter in the search field...
