which pole would you recommend? A 50 mm or A 45 mm??? what is better? im about to purchase on here... but im scared i wont get the right size.... please help me choose..... thanks a lot

50 is standard in most palce but 45s are nice and smaller poles are becoming much more common so it really depends on what you plan to do with your poling. I have 50 and like it and I've danced on 45 and liked those too. I don't know if it is true or not but rumor has it that smaller poles are better on your hands/joints in the long run. I think either is fine. Sorry for the fence-sitter answer.

In the pole fitness class I've been taking, we use 45 mm poles (not xpole), but I purchased a 50 mm xpole.....and it might just be me, but I feel that the 50 mm is sturdier than the 45 mm. 🙂

A larger sized pole will always feel "sturdier" but I prefer my 45mm its been easier on my wrist and elbow joints. The 50mm is standard size for most studios and competitions although it seems to be slowly changing to the smaller 45mm for competitions. I still use both. 🌸

I like both honestly. I have a 50 xpole but at class I use really small brass poles. 50 is better for some things in my opinion but smaller is better for inverted tricks for me. It's kinda cool though cause if I can do a move at home, I know I can rock it in class. 😀

I am very petite and LOVE my 45mm. The 50 feels wierd. Probably just because I am use to my 45 mm at home though. If you have smaller hands, I would say go w the 45mm so spins will be easier!!!!

It really depends on what you wanna do, like FreetheSun said. I'm petite but I got a 50mm anyway because I want to dance in a club where it's likely to be the standard size. It's more difficult but it strengthens my grip for the more advanced moves later, I believe. Now I'm wondering if the smaller size may have been better for gaining more overall strength, more quickly. I don't know, but I doubt it matters too terribly. I haven't had any pain in my joints yet, but that's most likely because I don't pole enough. 😳
