😢 I dont know why! But I can invert but I have a terrible time sticking to my pole (I have to hold on with my hands). It is super dry where I live, but I even have a hard time with hang grips. I just dont know why my body does not grip the pole? I feel as slippery as a snake. Any suggestions?

Here's a few tips that might help... - Clean your pole well to make sure you don't have any residues or oils from... whatever. - Take a quick shower to wash off all lotions and body grease/sweat/oil - Make sure to warm up and warm up the pole as well... a cold pole = no grip - SQUEEEEEEZE with all your might. Clamp those legs together like your life depended on it. If you're newer to pole you might not realize your legs aren't strong enough for inverting. It takes a lot of time and practice to be able to squeeze your thighs together around the pole. Try some leg strengthening exercizes or moves... sitting on the pole (upright) is a great way to do that. Hope that helps.

Hi I have the same problem just with my hands, I have x pole and I have tried Harpix, Calcium ( like gymnists use ), hairspray actually works best for me.. I have a strong grip and have been training and teaching 3 months but sometimes I just cant hang on for the spins,I was competing the other day and I could not do my tricks on their poles, very frustrating.......... what other tips do you girls have? Is there any "magic stuff" we can use to help? 😉 Polar Ice

I don't use grip aides for spins, only inverted split grips actually, but if you have extremely sweaty hands it might help...
Are you too dry? Here in the winter I get so dry because it is winter and I work in chlorine water for a lot of the week and I barely every lotion cause I forget and/or I want to pole later and then I end up so dry that I can barely climb the pole (which is a no brainer when I don't have non-snake-scale-skin) so you might actually be too dry. Depending on how long you've been doing it, it could be strength or it could be too much moisture on your skin or way too little. There is a fine balance that you need to find.

FreeTheSun has a good point if your too dry you wont stick....while you shouldn't apply lotion right before you pole, its fine to use a few hrs before if you have dry skin. I have dry skin and I wont stick to ANY finish well if I don't moisturize. And if I try to skip a warm up...forget it.....I slip and slide. 😢 Warm up!!!!!!!!!!! You will not have good grip until your body is warm enough. If you live in a colder climate, be sure to do a warm up that includes getting your pole warm as well.
