I'm 29 years CLEAN and SOBER TODAY!!

Hey my SV friends...just wanted to share this day with you...it's special to me...and so are all of YOU!! Today is an amazing day to me...I am 29 years drug and alcohol free!! WOW, that's over half of my life!! All I know is I'm very grateful. People/Family used to tell me I was worthless...that I wouldn't amount to sh**...LOL well I proved everyone wrong including myself! I was determined to rise above poverty and have a better life than my parents, that I would finish school (I got my GED) and go on to be the first one in the history of our family to go to college..and I DID!! It took me awhile, but it did happen!! my children are the only grandchildren who went to college (they both graduated with their degrees!). Just thinking back when I tried to end my life at three different times because I felt helpless and hopeless and how I was intercepted before I could die (I was 13 1st attempt, 19 on the last)...makes me believe even more that I have a purpose, a reason for being here....GOD wasn't finished with me yet....I guess what I've come to believe is that I was put here with many opportunities/reasons....one of them I believe was to learn how to believe in myself, to become stronger than my mother or her mother....to help break the cycle in our family of abuse, addiction/alcoholism. Well what I know for certain is that GOD was always there making sure I got here, and by being a victim of child abuse/molestation and rape....I have become strong as a person, as a woman, and am a SURVIVOR...NOT A VICTIM!!! So it's with this attitude that I have taken on my "bodybuilding"...I CAN and WILL make my body stronger, healthier....I've only just begun.... GOD BLESS and have a fantastic day everyone!!

congratulations and wish health and ongoing happiness for the next 29. my son is an alcoholic i hope one day he will be clean too xx. 🥂

WOW CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You should be so proud of yourself because im so so so impressed and proud of u and im a complete stranger who doesnt even have a clue about how hard it was!
