How's the Brass X-Pert Pole?

So I see there has been a lot of debate in the last thread I read about the brass x-pole. I wanted to knwo if anyone has had any upadates since then? Has anybody brought a brass xpert xpole recently, or broken theirs in yet? How is it? Is is grippy? I am worried because I am moving to PEnnsylavania where it is very cold, and I am generall not very grippy, so I have been thinking of getting a brass pole. Is it worth it? If not from xpole, then anybody have any companies they would like to suggest buying a brass pole from?

I hesitated replying because I do not have a Brass pole, but was considering it for months before I decided on the Titanium Gold X-Pert. I am thankful that I did my research(studioveena) and got the pole that was perfect for me. One of the main things to consider is, of course, grip. Our bodies and climate play a big part and every body is different. Another thing to consider(and this is what made me change to Titanium Gold) is, how much grip do you want? When I was looking into a new pole, I was still doing individual moves and not many combo moves. An experienced poler had said how brass can be too grippy when it comes to transitioning from one pole move to another. Now that I am advancing, I see that. Even my Titanium Gold sometimes can have a little too much grip. I am so thankful I did not go with the brass. Again, every body is different, but this is my experience.

The Studioveena pole has the most consistent grip out of any finish I have!! I've used it when it's been cold and super hot and it's always great! I only have the old brass xpole, and it's very temperamental. Works great when im super sweaty! I have tried other brass too and again I couldn't grip well if the weather was cold, until I warmed up my body to the point of sweating. :)

I have bought a brass xpert recently. It feels more grippy than chrome, but I haven't gotten more pole burns during transitions or moves because of it. It just feels like a more secure grip which is nice to have. I went straight ahead for the brass one because I've read everywhere that this finish can work well with sweat. I have excessively sweaty palms, and the brass didn't seem to help me enough. My feet are sweaty as well and the brass helped me achieve my first successful Cupid, so it does help to some extent.

I got my brass x pole about 8 months ago and love it. I live on the south us (really humid in summer) and have sweaty hands. I have used powered coated, chrome and brass but I prefer brass. I can stick moves more consistently on the brass and have never had extra pole burn. it is also has better grip if you need to emergency stop a move. it did take a while to break in. Best way to warm it up is to do spins of static plus you get warmed up too.

Thank you everybody for you suggestions and feed back! I ended up getting chickening out on the brass and getting an xpole xpert chrome. Once I see how chrome behaves in this climate in combination with my body type I think I will have more confidence to go ahead and choose a brass pole, and I will take into account your experience that you have shared and recommendations. Thanks guys!!

I do that every time I get a new pole!!! I end up getting chrome. I have 2 chrome now and am selling my 50mm. When it goes, I was going to get a brass, but I will chicken out and get chrome again. I Eventually want 2 chrome, 1 silicon, and one powder coat or brass pole. I always need 2 chrome to practice for performances or competitions.

I have a 45 brass x-stage. I am very sweaty and I slip on the chrome poles at my studio. I do not slip on my brass pole. I do feel like it is harder to do spins, but I am also pretty new so I probably have a bit of a death grip. It is very grippy compared to chrome. I dont know how I feel about it yet. I really like the feel of the titanium gold poles at my studio. wish they had this option for x-stage...

if you tend to be sticky, brass is very hard to do spins on. I get a half revolution then end up dangling, versus stainless and chrome where I do 40 revolutions!

I'm going to be getting a 40mm soon. I was thinking about brass. Chrome in the winter, some days are great some days not so great. Wondering how to clean it and if it smells.

for the most part you can clean the pole with rubbing alcohol. If it gets to tarnished for your taste, brasso works on 1 piece poles, but I'd ask x pole abut using it on the multi piece. Brass smells like metal, so yes your hands end up smelling like pennies afterwards.

Same comment I've made in the past abt brass x-pole xpert (not stage) -- forget abt the grip issue, the WOBBLE was what made me so frustrated! Studio I work at even went 2 rounds of a brass xpert thinking maybe there was s'thing defective abt 1st one we received... Nope, 2nd one resulted in as much wobble as 1st. In static and WORSE in spin mode... Too scary for most people and especially new students (which we all get a lot of)... Even if it didn't bother you while u polled, I can't imagine that in the long run it's a good thing to have your pole continue to wobblw like that anytime you're on it... Granted been at least 6 months since last touched one of those (& speaking of touch, yes I think universal opinion is that brass = major grip, in general, regardless of pole brand, especially the more u use it over time, MORE grippy...) Anyway, I do now wonder if the problem could be exacerbated by having these poles installed at 12ft (like we did)? Maybe at 10ft or less it wouldn't be so bad? The construction felt so flmsy that I'm sure there'd still be some degree of wobble no matter how long/high of a pole... Again, this is specific to xPole brand. I've been on Danzer brand brass poles installed in a studio that has 18ft high ceilings -- pretty solid for that much height, even considering these are 50mm vs the 45 xpert -- maybe a 50mm brass xpert would be fine? Gosh pole science is so specific... And also, I have to echo that the Lil Minx (maker of SV's pole, I believe) powder coated steele is also pretty rockin finish grip-wise... I was even impressed by their SS finish I tried at a I studio I recently visited... Very diff feel from Platinum Stages' SS finish that I found just too slippery, I thought worse that xpert chrome...

Brass is very soft, so it has a lot more flex than the other materials, even more the higher you go. That said, x pole offers build a poles for studios and I think they are releasing a duel lining pole for that issue as well.

I don't have a brass..yet but I've had a stainless steel and chrome..which I've spray painted it pink...i live in az and this summer not only is 120 but its been rather humid..i break in a pool of sweat jus after 5 poling mins!....and then it feels like I'm lube with ky jelly when i try to pole at all...I've tried everything!! from grip aids to tapeing it up with painters tape..nadda..the spray painting has been so much better..but not enough..I'm intrested in hear more from others that have the brass xpole too!!

We have brass pussy cat poles are my studio and I do like them but they make my hands stink!!! However, at home I have a titanium gold x-pole. I originally wanted brass but I bought it from someone through the trading post and when I turned up at their house it was actually a TG pole. It was all wrapped up and never been used so I thought what the hell and bought it anyway...I absolutely love it! I'm glad that I didn't get the brass as the TG is really grippy and any grippier I think I would hate it!

Valerie - I talked to X pole US over and over again about getting a 40mm TG pole. They offer it in the U.K. because the TG is popular there I guess, but Kimara says it's not popular enough here to get a shipment. If you want a type of pole, call them and request it! As of the last time I pestered them, I was the only one asking about a 40mm TG. The only way they can know if there is a demand is if people say they want it!

Really Leyrose?? I've seen on Aus X-Pole seller sites that the TG is not available in the 40mm size. 40mm is only available in Chrome & Brass in Australia.

Hmmm... Yeah I've just had a look Juicy J and you are right. I bought my pole off someone who was selling on the trading post. She had bought it then moved house and had no room for it so it was still all wrapped up in its box and it is 100% a 40mm TG. She must have had it ordered in from the UK then.

In Australia, we stock the 40mm in Chrome or Brass, mainly because they are the two finishes most commonly used by studios here. Most people that use Titanium (matt Silver or Gold finish) over here are after a 45mm, as it's also the most common size we sell. The new brass is FAR grippier though than the original brass. Anyone with the original brass will see a great improvement if they clean the pole with a cutting compound (in Aus we recommend Mr Buff). The brass tubing is solid brass, and they are probably now becoming one of the most popular poles we sell. Hope this helps?

@Juicy J I paid $600 for it...I thought it was well worth it seeing as it was completely new.
