How can I make my spinning mode spin better?!

I have a 45mm Xpert Xpole, when I invert using the spin mode, I come to a complete stop : ( Is there some way to make it spin more? Or is it something im doing wrong? It spins pretty fast while I'm getting into basic invert, but once I get into a move eg. Gemni/Scorpio or pole sit/CKR, it just stops!! Can anyone give me some tips? I want to look flowing and have pretty inverted spinny moves too!! Thanks : )

Maybe try unscrewing the pole from the ceiling a tiny bit? If it's screwed in too tightly, it won't spin properly. Mine was like that for ages. Just make sure you don't unscrew it so much that it's unstable!

If it spins well enough at other times maybe it is the fact that the closer you are to the pole the faster you spin and maybe you are moving arms and legs too far away from the pole getting into your inverted moves which makes the spin slow down? I have that problem sometimes, and holding myself a little closer to the pole makes it spin faster.

I tried undoing it a bit and it was way tight! It spins WAY better now! Yay! @madflice I'm only new to spin pole so any advice is great! I do slow down when I go into a butterfly or a CKR/CAR. How do you keep the momentum going when the move requires your body to be far from the pole? I need spin help LOL : )

Ok, rudimentary advice on spinning is that if you want to slow down, extend part of your body away from the pole, an arm, a leg, lean your upper body away etc. This is sort of like aerodynamics where you want to create wind resistance. In order to spin faster you bring yourself in towards the pole, make yourself smaller almost which creates less wind resistance(lol @ wind resistance, but I can't think of another term for it!), provided you have not stopped spinning completely by the time you manage to do this it works a treat. I often use it when trying to land a spin in a particular spot by putting my body that little bit closer or further away so that I will arrive at just the right time in the routine. Some moves it will naturally slow(I don't find it with a CAR/CKR, but i do find it with planks or superman or the like but everyone is different)and I was told by a teacher once when I asked that this is normal, and the trick is to make sure you have enough momentum at the beginning of the move that will slow down to cover it if that makes sense? Then you put a move after it where you are closer to the pole to bring the momentum back up if needed. I don't know if I put that right, but that is the way I do it even if I have not explained it well.

hey 5 butterflies! i just recently posted an entire blog on tips for spin pole... hopefully you find some of these helpful =) best way to get yourself going fast again after a long and extended pose would be to tuck yourself in very close to the pole-- so from a butterfly, go into a bomb, or from a ckr, sit up and hang out in a pole sit with bent knees. http://aerialamy.com/blog/?p=1922
