I'm thinking about hosting a pole competition for Tallahassee and other surrounding studios (if there are any) but I've only been to 1 pole comp. The comp was in a strip club in Atlanta so it doesn't really count LOL! Anyone out there ever hosted there own pole comp and does any one have any suggestions, for-warnings or helpful experiences they wish to share

I am a student in a Pole Studio and my studio wanted to host a competition and had negotiated with the club over fees, insurance, etc and had put a lot of work into the comp only to discover that they didnt have enough competitors! See, loads of the students said they'd enter the competition but when it came to the crunch, a lot of them decided against it for various reasons. I totally respect the fact that people have concerns about entering a pole comp but I thought Id just give you the heads up so that you get definate names on the list before you go booking or paying out for venue, fees, DJ, etc. Also there were some girls who had worked hard at putting together a routine for the comp and now that its cancelled those girls might feel like they've wasted their time! 😲
very good advice, thank you! i didn't think of that... i should have though. after dancing for 9yrs i know all about girls backing out at the last minute. what a pain in the rump! if i was one of the girls who worked hard and kept to my word i would've been of fire, sorry to hear that. i decided that maybe we should make the girls pay an entry fee. something low but enough to let us know that they are serious ($20-$50). then with the money we can get t-shirts made for them or something... or just give it back. if we do get a chance to do the comp i'll keep you posted on how we handled that situation.

good luck stainless with your competition! I wish they'd do more than just amatuer nights here in Indy. Let us know what transpires from this.... 😁
I would be interested in entering. I am located in Orlando, FL, and have only heard of amature nights in strip clubs which always seemed to be rigged. Would you be associated with the Art of the Catwalk up in Tallahassee?
