Hey Polers 😂 My name is Jasmin and from Manhattan and have two daughters (5 & 😎. I just had my x-pole (45mm chrome) delivered....YAY!!! WHOOOHOO!!! 🥂 I must say you guys make it seem easy and flawless. I cant wait to start learn from you guys. BTW, I didn't get to do much today...my hands were too sweaty 😳 i was really excited 😂 ...but when they finally dried i was able to play with it a bit. What's funny....my girls jumped on the poles like pros....they use to watch in search of the next pussycat doll....lol. i guess it's from all the climbing and sliding down the pole at the park. Any of you guys from NY?

Welcome! Those kids sure seem like natural polers don't they, and they don't wake up all stiff either. 😂 Enjoy your new pole!!!

Hey Jasmin! I just got back from a week in Manhattan, I'll need a week's sleep to recover! ANd my credit card needs to recover, too! I tried to attend a pole class there at Exotic Dance something or other, it's around 32nd and Madison or 5th. Wecome to SV!

Hi there Jasmin! My name's Adrienne and I'm in Brooklyn with a 50mm titanium gold X-Pole. It's nice to meet ya! 🥂 I used to teach at that studio in Manhattan mentioned by untamedshrew, it's called Exotic Dance Central. It wasn't quite the environment I'd hoped for. Now I just pole at home and do occasional pole gigs. I need to go practice but it's so HOT! On days like this I'll usually just do strengthening exercises and stretch, and try to really work my hand grip. If you can hold on even with damp hands, you sure feel safe! Of course I slide down with sweaty hands, but as long as I can keep a good grip...a slow slide down can look intentional and sexy. Sometimes if i climb up to do an invert, and the hands are too wet....sllooooow sliiiiiiiiiiiiide. Folk just love that paired with a sexy face! One of my own lil secrets 🙂 .....shhhhh! 😉 I just LOVE the environment Veena has created for us all! Big shout out and hugs to you from Brooklyn, Veena! Hugs and kisses to you all. 🌸

Hey Adrienne! Always great to meet a fellow New Yorker 🥂 How is the titanium gold X-Pole? I wish I woulod of brought that one instead...I hear there's a better grip on that one. How long have you been "poleing"? 😂 Have you tried the chrome before also? I'm trying to build strength, but this humidity isn't helping me one bit! 😢 I bet the titanium is much better in this weather.....yesterday was brutal. 🙄

hi again Jasmin! Well, I just had a semi succesful session. I was Just too dang sweaty! You're right about the humidity and I'm feelin it today. Ive had the titanium gold for a year and a half. It's got a really nice grip, except when I'm just too sweaty in which case any pole is difficult. 😲 I haven't tried the chrome x-pole yet. I've been poling on and off for a long time, more than 10 yrs. 🙂 I Just can't give it up!:)

Hi sexyss!!! im from panama but i will go to new york for 2 weeks.. and i cant wait to take my pole classes!! 🤸 i know i wont learn much in just 2 weeks but at least the spinning!! and i will also buy the pole to practice at home.. but not sure which school yet.. does anybody can recommend me?? 🙂

hello from brooklyn! I used to pole at crunch gym, but now i just pole at home since i finally got one! I live in williamsburg and anyone who know nyc knows space is limited so some moves i have to be careful. And i pull my futon down and sleep next to my pole (i have gotten lazy about taking it down). My lease is up the end of September and I am hoping that my new place will have enough room for it! I'm also new to the forum and i love it!

-Hi zenbrooklyn!! u are such a nice person!! 🙂 i visit nyc every year..and im going to stay in my uncle`s house, and he leaves in brooklyn.. haha. Well the thing is.. where can i take classes.. actually i want to learn basic inversion, but im not sure if im ready yet 😕 b4 going to nyc i will be taking my beginner classes in uk (1 month), and i also order a pole overthere! (omg cant waitttt), and i just want to keep practicing when im in ny (cuz in my country there is no classes 😕 ) i read that u used to teach!! wwooow u should be in advanced level arent u? i hope i can get that far.. omg cant wait!! lol.. btw where is your name? 😀 -Hi Sima!! where is crunch gym?? -Luvlyj... yeah i love nyc!! lifestyle! food and shopping! ? wooee 😀 Nice to meet u guys here!! 🥂

There are a bunch of crunch gyms all over the city and i think about 4 that have pole classes. Getting a membership there is the cheapest way to go about lessons in the city. i have an actor's discount where it is 50 a month for all of the gyms in the city, but you probly wouldn't want to join if you are just visiting! if you go to their website i think you can print out a free day pass. There is a dance studio on 28th and park called shokra studios and they have classes that are 20 dollars each (i think you get a discount if you buy ten at a time) and i went there twice and it was fun, but it was a very beginner class. If you go there go to Marlo's class, she is an amazing pole dancer and she does this thing called polerider (look it up!) which is pretty amazing. I haven't taken classes anywhere else in the city because they are all a lot more money but there is new york pole dancing, s factor and of coarse exotic dance.

I believe that on the Lil Mynx, you can make it slightly shorter or taller by twisting the top part--at least on the stainless ones. There's an arrow that should let you know but I think it's clockwise to make it shorter and counterclockwise for taller. I'm not sure about the powder coated ones, though. I hope this helps!

if you bring in any playbill (i used one from school and it wasn't even for a full play just 1 act we had as an exam) then it is no initiation fee, 50 a month, month to month so no contract and you can go to any crunch in the manhattan n bk which is cool cuz then you can go to all the classes! I signed up at the location on 12th st and 4th ave with dawn she is very nice! they also have classes at that location. there is also another really fun class called anti gravity yoga which i think if you like pole you would probably enjoy! if you actually sign up go to dawn and say my name, i will get a free month hehe
