Help with thigh-high boots?

Hi :) I've been looking at thigh high boots and was wondering if anyone knew whether lacing up the back will interfere with gripping? For example in an outside leg hang, will it make you drop on the floor? :S These are the kind I'm talking about: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/blackpool2717/thighhighs/delight-3063.jpg Any advice would be appreciated, thanks! They might to a certain degree--mine lace up the front, and the little metal eyelets I think are what interfere with certain moves. A Star for instance is harder to hold for me when I'm wearing my boots--I tend to slip in it and prefer doing it in shorter boots or barefoot. I thought it was just me at first, but the slipping only happens when I wear my thigh highs, so I assume it has something to do with them--those little metal things keep your leg from fully contacting the pole, so that is probably what causes the problem. It shouldn't be impossible to do moves, though--a couple of them might just be a bit harder to hold and you might need to adjust your grip.

I can see something like a knee hold being difficult but for me I use more of the side of my leg for outside and inside leg hangs. You may have more issues getting off the pole!

Thanks :) I've decided to get side laces for different reasons now - shipping for them at howcool is $30 cheaper for some reason?? I have both leather (or probably leather like), and vinyl thigh highs and I definately prefer the leatherette ones. The vinyl are just too sticky. I understand the idea of the lace up, but, mine are just slip on with small side zips. They are great, love them. And I didn't pay much at all. I have always wondered if the inner zipper on boots has become a problem for anyone. Does it scratch up the pole, and does it interfere with grip. I feel like I would worry about it during moves like the fireman climb and the crucifix. It actually doesn't seem like there is really any good place to have the zipper or lace up eyelets on boots you wear for pole dancing. Thoughts?

Well, I definitely have to say my moves aren't as graceful when I wear my boots--especially spins. I probably just don't practice enough in my boots. (I do videos in boots but almost always practice barefoot.) They tend to stick pretty badly. Ideally, it would probably be best to use them on spin mode, but my current pole is stationary only, although my X-pole should be here Monday so I'll have the option of spinny pretty soon here. Most moves they don't interefere with, so far anyway, except my star. Scorpios, geminis, inverted crucifixes, etc. etc. are fine because the boot grips the pole really well--sometimes too well if you want to slide down gracefully. Also, I have found that I don't like doing extended butterflies in them--putting that pressure on my ankle tends to actually pull my foot part way out of the shoe part, so then all of a sudden I have this loose, flappy shoe flopping around. It's never made me take a nose dive or anything, it just feels weird and I don't feel as secure in the pose. They are sexy as hell, though.
