Help with adaptor part??

Hey guys, sorry if this is a silly question but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I haven't dissembled my pole in a while, and when I did so the other day I noticed these parts come off the upper adaptor piece. Is this supposed to happen?? I don't even remember. I also don't know which order I put them in to reinstall.
