help w/posting?

I set my new pole up last night 🤸 i waited til today to try it so could record & post i am not really sure how to post i mean i'm sure i could eventually figure it out through trial & error and a dash of common sense just wanted to try and save time and avoid hassles i know to plug comp. into camera, but other than that not sure 😕 if anyone can give me any tips that would be great 🥂 😀 ☀️ thanks

Upload the video files to photobucket (or google video if longer then 5 mins) and pop up the link on a post. Looking forward to seeing it

thanks will try that friend id suppouse to help me but he is so unreliable bc of crazy commute/work schedule waiting on him might mean waiting another week went to wal-mart last night to buy editing software they didnt have any (of course i managed to spend alot of $on other things... 😲 ) so if not working today (won't know til afternoon, just came home from 3rd) am going to best buy to get editing stuff if working just going to post short clip without edit thnx again! ☀️

You could also try doing a search online. You might be able to find something telling you how to do it. Make sure you put in the brand of computer and camera. You could check YouTube too and if you find something good on there you could post it here so others could see. I hope you figure it out! 🤓

Check your computer first. My lovely laptop came with Windows Movie Maker, which is a good video editing program. Also failing all else, Photobucket has the ability to edit videos once they are uploaded.

am seriously fed up with this posting stuff 😈 my friend just left and basically i am going to have to buy a new Digital camera as it will cost me $25 to transfer my videos to dvd, ( the cam i have now takes mini tapes) than go to my moms (where there is a comp. with a cd drive that actually works) upload than email vid to myself and fnally uplad to you tube 👎 i am realllly upset 😢 i just bought this camera and now i have to try and sell it and get a digital/you tube ready camera searched online and found 1 for under $300, but also need to get laptop as cd drive cannot be fixed 🙄 ( no way to watch dvds, make cds, ect) he wasn't able to hook up scanner since i couldn't find the wires.. just very disapponted to put it 1 way am buying the camera over the weekend (after get paid on fri.) so will have to wait to buy another camera and shoot another video before can post should atleast be able to have pics up tommrow 😐 just really sucks as have been trying to do this for so long and seems like it should be a simple thing not to mention i had recored my first day with new pole so could post... owell am upset, but with a little more time ( and alot more $$) i will get this done the bright side is once i finally have the right equipment and a basic understanding of how it works it will be each time after that well tahnks for trying to help anyway 🙂

Age has taken its toll and I am desperately trying to remember the name of this device. But go to Office Max or whatever is the office store in your neighborhood. For about forty bucks--a one time expense--you can buy this wedge shaped device (Grrrrr...what is the NAME of this thingy.....????) Veena, ask your husband because he will know what this thing is called. Argghh! It's got a funny brand name... It has standard video input jack for standard RCA and/or S video and/or standard RF outputs at one end of the device. The other end is a USB cable output. The device may or may not also be available with Fire-Wire if you are an APPLE person. You plug your video camera--even an old fashioned black and white VHS camera as big as a boot shoebox--into this device. It acts as a compiler and creates a digital video file in your computer. You can use this to convert old wedding videos and 1980's era VHS tapes to video. Once you have a digital video clip on your computer, you can edit it with Windows Movie Maker. The camera store charging you 25 bucks a pop is probably using a similar device. One caution about Windows Movie Maker is that is doesn't support every type of video type file. If you buy a new camera, try to look on the box and and see what type file it saves as and if this file is supported by whatever movie editor you have. I have a FLIP. it comes with it's own junky editor--but saves as DOT WMV files, which work OK inWindows Movie Maker. ROXIO CREATOR is the software that supports virtually every video file type known to man (and woman)! It will cost you 79.95--but I've seen it on sale at Target for 49.95. It has many bells and whistles and allows you to do crazy stuff with music and sound to your pole dancing. You said something interesting in your post--that your cam uses mini-tapes. Are they Digital? Examine the camera closely. If they are digital, and not analog, you might not need to do a conversion. Look for a USB output port underneath or on the side of the cam. It might be covered with a tiny black rubber flap to keep water/moisture out. If it is a digital cam, you might be able to plug it in to your USB port. If so, a flash driven computer program will auto-start in your Run menu and might pull the videos into your computer on its own. There are two ways that I suggest video editing, if you must use a PC get Adobe Photoshop Elements. It's a hundred bucks and can be downloaded here http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/. Prior to Veena getting her mac she cut all her videos together (including the lessons on this site) with this software. With that being said, the best way I've found to edit is using a Macintosh. It will suck video in off of any device that has a USB or firewire port, it will even import video from the DVDs created by DVD video cameras, which is something most windows software won't do. I have been an IT professional for almost 15 years now, I have logged thousands of hours on all major operating systems and find the Macintosh platform to be the most problem free and easy to use system out there. Hopefully this post is helpful.

thank you guys so much ☀️ ya i called my friend from work today to ask before i buy anything if there is any other way to post with cam i have and not spend $25 per video i haven't heard back yet, but i was thinking i am going to go to best buy to ask around they are sometimes a little expensive, but the staff can be very helpful i am going to check out your suggestions 👍 the camera doesnt say digital anywhere, but the mini tapes i am using say "advanced Digital quality.." hmm.. well am going to try suggestions and check out circuit city & best buy to see if there is a quicker, cheaper way around buying new cam hope this works out as am very eager to post 🤸 ❗ thanks again for the help! 🥂

I agree with the Webmaster about MACS. We are a PC family kind of by default, because the first school computer we got for free was an IBM PC 15-20 years ago. Was it the P/S-1 or 2 or something? I think that junky old boat anchor is still up in the attic! As we bought our own machines, the older PC's were "hand me downs" to the kids. Believe it or not, I've got a little detachable "A" drive sitting right next to me because every now and then I have an old file on a floppy disk, LOL! Laurie's sister is a professional graphic artist and photographer who makes catalogs for a major manufacturer of farm products. She also creates animations of fans, grain elevators, and tractor engines. All of this powerful artistic and design work is better acomplished with the MAC. Her only concession to PC is accounting and payroll, just because so many of the IT financial products are PC based... Thanks for posting the name of this video device. Eventually, I'll get one--old wedding and toddler videos are not holding up well and I'd like to convert them to DVD's one day! Joel

well still not able to post vid (which is really disappointing as i have 20 mins of footage already piled up but good news i was able to get pics on my email 🥂 sent them to sascha, but dont know how to get them on here help please ❓ lol thanks in advance

Presumably if you managed to email them then they are now on your computer. Get either a Photobucket account (vid should be less than 5 minutes) or a Google videos account (which allows longer vids) or a Youtube account if you are brave enough (I'm not!). Then follow the instructions for uploading the video (pm me if you need help with either Photobucket or Google videos, and I'm sure there's a few people on here who will be able to advise on Youtube). After the video has uploaded all you have to do is post the link here 😀

yes have pics on email now as friend was able to load them to her comp and than send to me just not sure how to select the pics i want to post on here (as there are 3-4 pics on each email) and get them here sent pics to sascha so thats a start, but would like to post pics here as far as video actually have done a few challenges 2 vids for props challenge, but after spending alot of $$ and time on things that havent worked, i was told by best buy staff that i will need to have some sort of port installed on my comp as camera is too new for old comp. so more $$ and time, but can't do right now (due to price of labor to have installed) am disappointed bc have been trying for months now to post very frustrating good news if/when ever do manage to post will make up for lost time with posting a few vids at once

lola- you ROCK at the pole, i bet people would LOVE to see youtube vids of yours if you posted them! 🙂 camilla- try saving them to a file onto your computer, like a "pictures" file or something, then come onto the site and go into "add pictures" or something like that on your profile here. it should let you browse and pick which one you want to upload, it's very easy!

im really really annoyed right now thought i was going to finally manage to post atleast a pic went to email, got the pic, put it in my pics folder, went to profile pics, selected and submitted pic than go check it out there is still no pic on my profile i am beyond frustrated with trying and getting nowhere with getting a pic ( never mind a video i am obviously really bad with comps but this is ridiculous i really wanted to come out and say yay!! finally got a pic out here well i tried 3x i give up atleast for awhile

ok i am sooooo frustrated!!! i went to best buy numerous times only to waste $$/time on things that have not owrked in getting me to be able to post finally they just tell me to go to sony webpage and order from them i do and have been very anxiously awaiting the arrival of the usb cable the page said works for handycams ok comes today i was super excited guess what doesnt fit!!! i am soo pissed my bf's brother is suppouse to come over later to see what he can do ( even though he's tried before) i dont know just so eagar to post and feel more involved and seems like an impossible feat talk about choosing the wrong camera ok well guess eventually will have a video up

ok so finallllly have videos on comp they are in my documents under videos ok so thats good problem is w getting the vids here it was uploaded as 1 lonnng continuous video i played around and now have a bunch of clips w diffrent dates like mini folders of dances but went to view my 80's challenge dance and it plays like 10sseconds and than repeats the 1 dance got broken into 2 or 3 folders dont know how to either link those together so plays as 1 uncut dance the way it was taped or i can view the whole 80min tape at once in a folder but dont know how to extract the 1 song out of that 80 mins worth i am so eager to post esp now that vids are on comp friend said monday night he will prob be able to come by to help but really dont want to wait any longer should be in chat tonight around 6-7p est any help with this either through forum or through chat would be much appreciated 🌸 🌸 🌸
