Ok so i just did the october challenge 🙂 Opened the video into WMM to edit it and it wont let me upload it because it is an WMM file, does anybody know how to convert the file into a different type? Any help is appreciated thanks! 😀

Hello, Congratulations on making your first video. Looking forward to seeing it. 😀 Your problem is an easy one to fix, so here we go: WMM is not a movie file. That is a project file. That mean it only opens in Windows Movie Maker so you can edit your movie. To watch it in any other program, or to upload to the Internet, you have to have to export or publish your project to a movie. 🙂 So - open your .WMM file in movie maker, and go look for something like 'Save As Movie' or 'Export to File' or 'Publish Video' in the file menu. I forget exactly what the menu option is called, but it should be self-explanatory when you see it. 😀 From there you should be able to change settings like whether you want it to be .avi, .wmv, .mov, .mpg etc etc. Oh and exporting usually takes quite a long time, that is normal.
far more simple: dump WMM and get a free download (trial) of Sony Vegas. It works far better than WMM. WMM is a really crappy product that is not suited for editing videos. It constantly drops frames, creating jerky films; is a nightmare to work with and I would suggest not using it for anything. Vegas is a pro product, however they have a free trial and it also can be purchased pretty cheaply, ie under $60 US last time I looked. If you are serious about making good looking vids, then get vegas. It's a good product. We use Final Cut for editing at home - mind you, we have a film company and now we're using Maya for modelling and animation, so it makes sense. Yes, we are Mac heads. So, in a nutshell, try Vegas and see how it goes - you may notice a marked improvement in the end product. I've also heard it's a very easy to use product, especially for beginners.
Even if you do get Sony Vegas, you would still have to make sure to export/publish your movie, rather than trying to upload the vegas project file (which Google tells me is .veg or .vem?) 😉
