I've finally put my pole up after the big move. The trouble is while packing it seemed like a good idea to tape the screws etc to the pole, now I can't get the glue from the tape off. :(. I've wet it but it doesn't want to budge. Does anyone have a solution to get it off that won't damage my precious pole. Thanks in advance Lorraine

Goo Be Gone. It will take it right off. Make sure you clean with alcohol when you're done.
Thanks so much, is that from a craft store or somewhere like walmart

Hardware or automotive stores sell it as well if you want it quicker. At least in the States.
Canadian Tire carries it. Check the automotive section.
Nail Polish remover or hair spray.
I moved back to the Uk now :). I will try the nail polish remover, thanks chemgoddess1.
nail polish remover is working, slowly but surely :)

lighter fluid also works well lol, the butane type.
