Hello from Austria.. :o)

Hey Veeners! 🙂 I just wanted to tell you all that I really love this community! From the first time I stumbled across this site I’m absolutely hooked.. ❤️ What fascinates me most is the familial atmosphere and the supportive attitude of the members. There are really some cool people in here!! 🌸 What’s to say about me: I’m 25 years old and live in Austria (... all those countless times I’ve already heard: “oooohh nice – kangaroos!” ... 😉). I’m currently working my @ss off to finish my master’s degree in genetics. I love being outside in nature and amongst people. I’d describe myself as a pretty open-minded and optimistic person who simply loves life (the bad times as well as the good ones) – and I’d be glad to make some friends here. My pole status: absolute beginner with loads of addict-potential.. 😎 Right now my x-pert pole is on its way to my home (hooray!!) >> At the moment I can’t wait to get my hands on it, and I’m really looking forward to being totally sore after my (inevitably over-enthusiastic) first pole practise. 😉 Aaand (last but not least), I just created a PayPal account to be actually able to pay for one year’s worth of Veena’s lessons. (Simply LOVED the free ones - so I'll definitely sign up!) My goal: being able to rock the pole till my 30th birthday! 😁 Well.. a long story cut short: A happy hello and sunny greets from Linz!! phoenix 🙂

Welcome! I loved Austria when I was there, such a lovely country! As an orchestral musician, I of course was enthralled by Vienna. Congratulations on your new pole and good luck with you pole journey! :)

Hello there! Funnily enough I was looking at flying out to Linz then going up to Salzburg for a holiday this winter, but money is too tight. I think I've found a kindred spirit as I am studing an MSC too in bidiversity and conservation and I have a interest in conservation genetics. Sadly this is not where the jobs lie. Rocking the pole only till you're 30? Girl! The ladies here rock it LONG after that. There should be a chat stretching session tonight if you are interested. x

Hi folks! Thx for the lovely welcomes! 🥂 @ englann86: wow, I'm pretty impressed by you being an orchestral musician! I really do love music - but much more on the receiving end 😉 .. I'm not exactly talented in this section (as a kid I couldn't carry a tune to save my life.. hehe.. fortunately this improved a little bit) What kind of instrument do you play? @ Polecat88: I hear you - getting a job in our field can be quite tough.. 😕 Yet, as I'm pretty much into cancer genetics and immunology, it might be a little bit easier... ??? Well, I'll definitely be able to say much more about this after having successfully landed a PhD-position 😀 *alreadykeepingmyfingerscrossed* (for both of us!!) omg 😲 something came out wrong here... of course I know that a lot of ladies in their 30s, 40s, 50s... do amazing stuff on a pole! I just meant giving myself those years to become good enough to proceed to the more advanced pole tricks.. considering my present (in-)flexibility I guess I should really count in "years" 😎 Joining the chat tonight would be really cool (very nice of you to mention it!), but I need to work 🙁 xoxo ps: I'd totally recommend visiting Salzburg one day - I went to university there and IMO the city is absolutely charming! 🌸

I'm a horn player. I have only gotten to try out the Vienna Horn (Weiner Horn, or pumpen horn) a few times, which is fun. The Vienna Philharmonic still uses them exclusively. They are one of the only orchestras in the world to use horns specific to their region, and the only horns in the world still using the pumpenvalve, hence my nerdy joy at getting to visit Austria. ^_^
