Hello, Mommy from Ohio

Hi, I have posted a few times (and lurked around even more) and thought it was appropriate to say HI! I am a mama first and foremost to three wonderful kids. My boys are 6 and 8 and my little princess is 4. I'm from the horrible state of Ohio - which my hubby loves to have the kids chant in the back of the van (O! H! IO!) 🙄 I am married to a big old stud who I love dearly. I do the stay-at-home mommy thing and am looking forward to having some "me time" when all the kids are school bound next year and figured - hey, pole dancing - that seems like a great idea for some "me time"! I have never exercised a day in my life, but have taken quite an interest in pole dancing after checking out a ton of youtube videos. I mean really, how can you not want to do this after watching Felix Cane and Alethea Austin - the movement is so captivating - combine that with the musicality and it is just intoxicating!! I enjoy dancing and feeling sexy, so it seems like quite a good match. I took my curiosity to a bar and played around on a pole (flag pole) and LOVED it and am now completely sold on the idea of pole dancing. I'm waiting for my hubby to bring home a good paycheck so I can order an X Pole and get started at home. Biting my fingernails here in anticipation. In the meantime, I am lurking about, checking out all the aspects of pole dancing and can't wait to get started. I tend to be a long winded when I post cause I type fast, so I apologize ahead of time. Thanks for having me! Looking so forward to joining the ranks of you beautiful, athletic woman.

Hey Momma...I am in Bedford Heights....not too far from you! If you are looking for classes I would highly recommend Be Studios at 104th and Clifton in Cleveland (Lakewood border). What bar were you playing at? (just to make sure that my list of bars in the area that have poles is complete!) If you look at my profile I have pics taken a few weeks back at Slam Jams in N. Olmsted.

Oh yay - a fellow Ohioian, and your fairly close to boot! I'm embarrassed to admit this, but the bar was Hottie's in Parma. 😳 I don't even know that I would add them - I don't think they are real poles, I think they are flag poles 😂 Then again, I'm no expert, but I don't think they are the real thing. It is unfortunate, because there are three of them, on nicely raised stages. If they were real it would be an incredible place for pole dancers to go and play. The bar used to be the $hit, but has gone way downhill after someone got ran over in the parking lot - the police presence was increased and killed off the business. The bartender did mention that they still get an okay sized crowd and that those who do come go straight to the poles and that is the main reason that anyone still comes in the bar. I'm guessing they are exotic dancers practicing. I had heard that Slam Jam's has them also - I have to check out your pictures! I'm still not quite sure about classes - I'm not crazy about group stuff (a bit of anxiety). An old friend of mine was teaching there some time back, Alicia (aka Barbie Doll). Wonder if she is still there - I may feel more comfy if there is someone there I know. I have yet to be to Hotties but have heard about their poles (and about the issues). SIN (used to be Traffic) downtown also has poles along with a few places in Akron. The pole at Slam Jams is brass and pretty tall but it is also scratched to hell. The top of my foot is just starting to heal from almost 3 weeks ago. There is also a group of Ohio girls that has been getting together in Columbus at a bar called Kickstand. They have live bands and the pole is set up in front of the stage. If you search for Luvlee she has some videos up of the jam in March on her profile. They had all gotten together this past Saturday again but I was unable to make it. Be is a small studio and only has 3 poles so classes are kind of small. I sat in on a class last night and there were only 3 girls. She also does privates but they are a little more pricey. I used to go to the advanced class on Monday nights and it was usually me and the instructor...sometimes one other person would join but that was about it. If you talk to Christina just tell her that you do not like lots of people and she can suggest a time when it is less crowded.

Hi mommy from another mom 🙂 I'm new to pole dance (less 1 month) and it's so much fun. It's my ME TIME and it's the only way I can put my brain at off. With two kids, a man, a house and a job I really need it 😀 Hope you get your pole soon and start to play around then you could show us what you can do.

I actually checked those pictures out during my lurking 😀 It really is a shame Hottie's didn't just spend a few extra bones to put up real poles because the bar is actually pretty nice. The poles (3) each have their own stage and seating all the way around so when you hop off to relax and take breather, you don't have to go far. Since your seated in your little area, it "holds" your pole so that no one else can come snatch it up LOL I was able to flip upside down and stuff, so maybe they aren't half bad, but I don't know for certain if they are the real thing. They are silver metal, but more of a flat, flag polish finish and seem a bit wider than a traditional pole would be. With some mighty drip and vinyl boots, they may be workable. If you venture out that way to play, please let me know. I'd love to come see some cool stuff in person. I was kinda excited to check out Slam Jam's, but if it's just that one pole and it's all yucky, I dunno how much I would be able to make of it. I'm thinking of dragging my mom and sisters along with me to a class so I won't feel so intimidated. Knowing that Be is a smaller studio actually makes it that much more appealing to me - not lots of people to laugh at me : ) C'mon paycheck - I want my pole!

The pole at Slam Jams is not that bad but then when you are climbing and doing all sorts of stuff on it barefoot....well, let's just say I had some issues! I did not even realize that I had damaged my foot until the next morning when I got in the shower. Both times we have gone out there it was a week night and the place was kind of dead....no fighting over the pole. There are a few girls planning on hitting SIN this weekend (I am not one of them). I guess the pole there is a spinny..... 🤮

Who is going? Cause I have been on that pole before and it was pretty cool when it was traffic. We had a hair show there like 2 trs ago and the secret after party that no one really knows where it is till u get a vip invite was there. My friend and I did earlier research and found out where it was. It was fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!!!!! Don't be a spinny hater. 😂

Hello! If your looking to save a little bit on the cost of a pole you could always go with a permeant one. Our kids are about the same ages!! Pole dancing mommy's rock 💪

Would it be okay to say what night these girls are going out to SIN? I wouldn't mind lurking about the crowd and checking things out (if I could find a sitter). I would love to have a permanent pole, but my only open area is smack dab in the middle of the living room. My hubby wouldn't be thrilled with a pole blocking his history channel and ESPN viewing (not to mention the kids with their cartoons). Hah, great mommy minds must think alike - I love the 2 year age gap, although when my last turned 2 and there wasn't a bun in the oven, it was a heartbreaker. ***Sigh*** So, hubby got snipped, and I got boobs, guess that isn't such a bum deal.

Velvet, awww thank you. I'm getting ready for a huge change - going a honey color, the grays are getting to hard to manage against the dark hair. Chem - LOL, ya' know, I'm starting to wonder if these boobs are gonna mess me up - when I have to use my muscles it squishes the implant and looks really goofy and actually kinda gross.

Hello! I'm from Ohio too, the opposite corner though, in Cincinnati. Welcome to the pole world! =) As far as the boobs are concerned, I know there's a forum on here somewhere about poling with breast implants and what to avoid or expect. Just got done reading that link - thank you! Seems that the boobs under the muscle are just gonna get smooshed, as a matter of physics (hoping that is the right word) Probably not helping matters, I have saline implants that are already a bit far spaced, so when they get mushed, it feels like they are practically in my arm pit 🙄 Ughh, what I wouldn't give to have my breastacular, bouncy, beautiful, before-babies boobies! Say that three times fast 😂
