Hair problems

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had had any experience of using John Frieda lightning spray on their hair, I used the stuff in March and my hair did go lighter but more of an orangey colour so I stopped using it. We went to Greece a few weeks ago and my hair has lifted to a nicer blonder shade but of course I've now got 2 inches of mousey brown roots and my hairdresser says I can't put any colour on my hair until its all grown out or cut off because of the damage this spray has done. . I've got shoulder length hair but am going to have a good trim soon to get rid of a couple of inches. I dont know if its possible to have any red or other colour added to break up this blonde ugh!!!!!! Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Your hairdresser has no idea what she is talking about. If this is the first time your hair has been lightened and has not been chemically treated in any other way then there is no way this is damaging enough. Your best bet would probably be to have a mix of high lights and low lights put into your hair. Or speak to another hairdresser that specializes in coloring.

I agree with Chemgoddess. I don' t see any reason why you could not get highlights and lowlights. If your hair is already blond then you would only need to lighten the root area of the highlights ( which is virgin hair and not damaged), and the lowlights could be done with a demi color which now a days are damage free and have conditioning agents.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to go to a new hairdresser in a couple of weeks get a trim and see about some highlights and low lights like you've suggested :)
