Grip Gloves

Hi all! This thread it's to know if someone use grip gloves for pole dancing. I have a very sweaty hands, i used Migthy grip powder, samples of iTac2 levels 3 & 4, vinagar, and nothing works, i slip down and haven't grip for learn... I'm very discouraged... Anybody have this gloves? http://www.poleexercise.co.uk/shop/mighty-grip-gloves-tack/ I'm thinking that it would be my last try. Can tell me if this gloves are good and works? Thanks.

Hi there!! YOU are NOT alone! I have the exact same problem. My hands and feet sweat soooo bad! The best product I used personally is called Tite Grip and I also use the Mighty Grip gloves...this really helps a lot! I am thinking of ordering the Mighty grip ankle protectors also, as feet sweat as well. I'm with you, the Tite Grip and Mighty Grip gloves have helped me though:)

Gloves are a good idea for getting used to moves and increasing grip but they could become a necessity, iv always had problems with grip and the best grip aid iv used (and iv used a lot) is dry hands. Maybe dedicate half a practise with gloves and half without. Also iv found that using a pole cloth that's been washed with fabric conditioner make the pole a bit slick too. Its a problem i think most polers have😀

My pole teacher also likes tite grip. She tried a few things and for her that one was the best for sweaty hands.

yea its weird usually i have really dry rough "man hands" lol but just today they were sweating so much and i kept slipping -_- so i started using itac2 level 2 and it was kind of okay but idk what was going on i just kept slipping off i even had to clean my pole a million times! okay not a million but almost in between every two or three spins....i was thinking bout getting the gloves but am not sure yet, does anybody know if the gloves prevents blisters? cuz also im now getting blisters on that meaty part right under my thumb nd it sucks...oh and p.s celedabcn i noticed your from barcelona, i just visited barcelona in january omg its the most beautiful place ive ever been to nd trust me i travel we even went to rome and the whole time i kept bragging how much better barcelona was! lol me and my boyfriend decided when we retire we're gunna move there lol

Well i think i buy the gloves, in black of course 😀 Now i have to decide what size, i supose that the sizes they put are for fitted gloves... @Adriibabii Yes i leave next to barcelona, if you come again you arribe to my town (i live at 10 min of airport 😀) I supose that the gloves work equal than the gloves for weight lifting, prevent the blisters, i use it in the gym for that reason... @SylviaJane thanks, it's good to see that i'm not the only one that have this problem. I bought the might grip gloves, great product, nothing wrong with them, but I feel weird in them, I prefer skin on pole!! I just wipe the pole with glass cleaner a lot and wipe my hands and battle the sweat/slip that way...

Hello Ladies, Thank you very much for starting this thread on the use of gloves. Our gloves were initially introduced as a training device to help while grip strength was developed by the novice. The gloves have now crossed over to those that have a problem with hand perspiration. There have been suggested many ways to help ameliorate this problem from the use of diet (you can see some information on diet on our web page) to the use of Botox, and surgery. Grip aids also help especially those with antiperspirants in the product. Mighty Grip does not contain an antiperspirant. There are basically two types of gloves, with and without tack. You can do more with the non-tack gloves because you can spin on a stationary pole with the non-tack but will not be able to do so with the tack gloves. The tack gloves are excellent for practicing specific moves such as inversions where one wishes to perhaps practice leg placement without having to worry about hand slippage. Also, a touch of Mighty Grip on the hands before putting the gloves on helps with grip as the application of a very small amount of powder keeps the gloves from slipping against the skin of the hands thus affording a better grip. The other positive point for the use of gloves is they will keep your hands from getting red and raw from hours of practice. A good 3-4 minute routine on the pole takes many hours of practice on the pole. This can and will produce callouses. I liked very much the suggestion of practicing both with and without the use of gloves. This will give the hands time to "toughen up" without callouses forming. We have also just introduced full fingered gloves and gloves with a touch of "bling". One of my students just bought the blinged out gloves and I wasn't aware they existed! I thought she blinged them herself - they are so cute!!!!! If you're using them because you have sweaty hands I suggest Tite Grip under them because it is an anti perspirant that will help you from sliding around in the gloves. If you do use Tite Grip - you have to put in on a half hour/hour before because it takes time to work unlike mighty grip which is kind of an instant rosin type grip. I <3 mighty grip gloves! I actually HAD to use them during a performance because it was outside and it was like 50 degrees so the MG gloves really helped my pole work a lot - there is no way I could have gotten through it without them.

Thanks for the info on the mighty grip ankle protectors. I have been debating whether or not to order them but I have decided to now order. I have not attempted inverts yet and I have the feeling they have help with support. Thanks so much! :)

I have a serious sweaty hand & feet problem too when I am doing pole. I just started using Tite Grip and it seems to help a lot. I put it on an hour or so before poling and then put another layer on just a few minutes before. As for the gloves I just bought a non-tack pair from my studio. When I tried to use them though I stuck so much that I couldn't spin at all. It seems that so many other people have had success using them though. Can anyone that has used them for spins give me some tips?

@Jessegirl - what kind of pole are using? I found the non-tack gloves don't work as well on brass and 45's - they provide too much grip for spinning. If you're on a 50 chrome or stainless I suggest adjusting your grip because if you have super sweaty hands - and I do - I tend to death grip my pole a lot. Once I got into using either Tite Grip or the MG gloves I realized I don't have to grip as much as I had originally thought. These gloves have such magic grip!

@ Charley: I have some Tite Grip samples and have used it once with little success. I realize now I was using it like Mighty Grip and applying right before poling. So, if it's best applied 30-60 minutes before poling, how can someone that is contantly needing to wash hands for some reason or other supposed to keep their application of Tite Grip on between the time you apply and the time you pole? 🙁 I would give anything to have decent grip for a change...of course, when (and if) I finally ever get it, I'll probably remove skin! 😀

I have a 50mm Chrome pole. I bet gripping too hard is my problem with them since I'm used to holding on as tight as I can.

Hi there, I too have gloves, they need to be extremely snug fitting to work it seemed. I had the smallest size and altough the gloves stuck to the pole, my hands slid inside them so they didn't work for me - but if you could get them tight enough they could be okay. A year further on, I find i don't need too much help with grip - just a bit if gym chalk or mighty grip - altough tite grip was a real favourite when I was a beginner. Funny story; in my beginners classes one girl used to bring kitchen rubber gloves to grip with! Bright yellow!

Use a little grip aid (Mighty Grip preferably) on the hands before putting the gloves on. Keeps the gloves from slipping against the skin of the hands. Works also for batting gloves and golf gloves in the same way. Joel

I adjusted my grip and am now not sticking too much in my hand area but I am still having another issue, The very bottom part of the glove by my wrist is catching/sticking to the pole and stopping my spin. The gloves seem to be nice and tight on my hand and I tighten the strap as much as I can. So not sure why it is doing this or what I could do to prevent it? Also after the very first spin I did in them the stitching in the seem by my thumb popped! So I hope they aren't going to fall apart after only a few uses. 🙁

some ladies have a longer palm area (wrist to bottom of fingers). We are working on the problem to see if we can move the closing strap or perhaps make an X-long glove Which would have to be about 1 to1.5 cm longer so the wrist strap does not get in the way of the grip on the pole.
