Grettings from Ottawa, CAN!

Hello everyone! I am absolutely thrilled to have found a site like this, thanks to one of its members. I took my first pole dancing lesson a year and a half ago and have come a long way. I still have a long way to go, but, hey, that's part of the charm of pole dancing! It'll probably be better now that I have my own pole at home! Anyway, I am glad to be here and I look forward to meeting new people at every stage of development! Cheers! 😀

Hey! It was nice meeting you yesterday--weren't those great workshops?? Karol's awesome. I came home afterward and wrote notes furiously, LOL. Hopefully I didn't forget anything major. Welcome to the site! I'm glad you found it. 😀

Oh yeah! I<m still sore all over but it was sooo worth it! I tried to do the moves again at home and managed to do half of them! I'll keep practicing til i get them all! I'll go say bye and thank you today at the party. Karol is awesome!! 🙂

Anyone else from Ottawa? 😛 I'm in Ottawa too. I first tried the pole 8 months ago with Capital Missfits. Recently did a few classes at Ottawa Pole Fitness (including two of Karol Helms' workshops!) Mostly working from Jamilla's Art of Pole series and Veena's lessons. You'll find lots of great info on this site!

Awesome! I did 3 of Karol's workshops (all but the Pro pole one) and loved them! I've been with Ottawa Pole fitness for a little while and I find it very good but I always end up taking twice the same levels since it's such a short session. What's Capital Missfits ❓

Capital Missfits is a fitness studio in Kanata. They have offered pole lessons with Li from Ottawa Pole Fitness and with Hannah from Polevolution. Two different approaches to teaching: Ottawa Pole Fitness teaches a choreographed routine. Polevolution teaches moves/tricks and lets you put them together as you like. I personally prefer trick-based teaching but everyone learns differently!

Wow I didn't know about Polevolution either. Got a lot to learn don't I... 😂 I'll have to check that out. Yeah, Li is great but I think I'd enjoy coming up with my my own routines once in a while. Thank you!

Hannah (Polevolution) was my favorite of the four pole studios I've taken lessons at in Ottawa. She's great at teaching good technique and is really safety conscious. Unfortunately, I don't think she's teaching right now. Last I heard, her primary location had closed down (Florida Fitness in St Laurent Centre) and she had just found out she was pregnant. Hopefully she'll start teaching again somewhere later this year.

Awesome! I'll check that out for sure! I went to her site but I noticed the classes listed dated from November 2009. Thank you for the info!! Maybe I'll see you girls there! 😉
