Good news: I got the scorpio on my first try! 🥂 Bad news: How do I get out of it again? 🤔 Badder news: I fell off the pole! 🙁 Badderer news: I fell off the stage! 😳 Baddest news: I rolled and hit my big pretty mirror! But it didn't break! 😀 Moral of the story: Don't buy a pole on a stage. 👎 I'm replacing it as soon as I can afford to.

That's a funny story! And I'm surprised the moral of your story isn't that you should figure out how to get out of a move before you try it... 😂 If you can do a gemini, try switching to a gemini and getting down like you normally would from an invert. You could also just wrap your free leg around the other side of the pole and slide down and land on your back as usual. I wouldn't recommend just letting go and hoping you land on your free foot (lemme guess: that's what you did 😜) Maybe even grab the pole with both hands and pull yourself upright a bit then unhook your leg. I'm glad you didn't seriously hurt yourself... or the mirror.

Haha as a fellow stage-pole owner I know the risks we face are more than the average poler when we go down 😂 Luckily I've never fallen off my stage (my first inverts were all done with a spotter, lucky me!) but I too can't wait for my floor-to-ceiling (not to mention spinning!) pole to arrive next week. But just think, if you can dance on that tiny stage, you can dance on anything right? 😀 I just put up a video of my inversions (chopper, scorpio, gemini) the other day if you want to see how I get out of all of those on the stage pole.
Natalie- you've NEVER fallen off your stage??!! 😲 You must be more graceful, cautious, or stronger than I am. This was my first "bad" fall, but I've had a handful of smaller ones. I've tripped or had too much momentum spinning or just blanked out like this time. I've also started hitting things because my spins are getting bigger. I have opened my bedroom curtains with my feet many times now; I'm sure the teenage boy that lives behind me doesn't mind! 😮 I like to "let er rip" and go crazy; I should probably tone it down a notch until I get my other pole. 🙊

lol i loved this post, the good news is that you're alright and it sounds like you didnt get hurt too badly!!! i think for me, when i try to do the scorpio, i do it just like veena's dismount in her video (do you have her lessons? she shows you a good dismount), i bring my free leg back up onto the pole, so im in a snake position and then slowly descend to the ground that way.
