Getting professional pole pictures.

Hi everyone, So, a professional photographer is coming into the studio in 2 week to take pole pictures. I booked my self a time slot so that I can get great pictures on the pole to prove before I get too old,senile and decrepid 🙁 that I was once hot and atheletic on the pole. 👸 Any advice on poses and move etc that looks great in pictures ❓I can do most of the advance moves but not the splits. I am allowed 2 outfit changes and the background will be black. Thanks in advance, Joni

I'm always impressed by the cross leg release, knee hold, and the inside leg hang. ... also that split grip v thing. ... reverse aysha looks pretty hot too. Lunchbox. ooh. if you can figurehead, I bet that would be THE HOTTEST PHOTO EVER. ... Yeah... Just don't flag and they'll come out great.

You should have a look at AJs website in London - http://poledancephotography.com/Home.html - he does pictures of pole and various events and that so you could get some ideas from here of what looks good 🙂 You're so lucky having someone come to your studio. Hope the pictures are great 😀

Great news on you getting some pics done 🙂 Im really lucky as one of my best freinds is a proffesional photographer,i recently done 2 photo sets in his studio on the pole,What i did was looked at lots of peoples pole pics and made a list of what looked good and names of moves that way when your head goes blank lol mine does alot!you can look at ur list 🙂 Figure head is great pose,star,gemini,to b honest the list would b endless hehe As for having a dark background,i think white,silver anything that will stand out against it will look good. Im sure you will come up with great idears and make poses your own 🙂 Maddie x

i agree with the white BG... the black is fine if u have lighter hair and not wearing black. and having a list of moves for your shoot will help too. for our first photoshoot, the photographer never photographed pole before so he didnt really know where the camera had to be at, and sometimes would miss the hold because with all the lights it gets so slick and we couldnt hold it for too long. the 2nd time with the black bg are the ones heather too ^^ i love heathers photos~ but heather also knows the tricks and also asked if i was going to try the same pose again or move on =) so yes its a good idea to know what u plan on doing and to communicate to the photographer what it is ur doing wether its a tall shot or a wide shot =) cant wait to see them! 🥂 😁

Look through other websites and not only see which poses you like but try to practice a couple in the mirror. You may not care for how you look in certain poses. I would even print out the pictures you wish to copy and take them with you. We've done a photo shoot at our studio and students who came in prepared like this got a lot more done instead of standing there trying to remember what they wanted. It also is helpful so that you and the photographer can see the angle you wish for the picture to be taken. For example you don't just want to do a "Scorpio" but you want it taken from "such and such" angle. Having the pictures printed out will help you get through a lot more and be happier with what you imagined you saw for yourself. On a black background I would suggest white or bold colors for yourself. Try a couple with a fitness style outfit and a couple with a racier outfit. Also, when you print out those pictures determine which ones you want dont in which outfit. Make up - put it on just a TINY bit heavy but keep the colors natural.

white, silver and bright colours that will pop against a black background... have the pole moves you want to do picked out ahead of time and think about which outfit works best with that move... also have a few pole *poses* that you can do - they are super easy and quick to do - like a pole bendover - but can also generate some great shots... also bring and wear shoes 😀 they really help with the lines and do wonderful things for the look of your legs!

i took part in a pole calendar recently. Some photos were fab,others not so coz it was my first photoshoot and i hadnt really worked out what i wanted to do. In terms of outfits and moves you dont want to wear anything thats gonna flash your bits (unless u want to) or unsuitable underwear (i had an issue with my boobs falling out my bra in a scorpio shot!!!! ) Also practice holding poses and moves for as long as you can,the photographer may mess around or take his time getting a pic and by that time youve slid off the pole or moved the wrong way...practice in front of a mirror and get a friend to take practice shots to see what works/looks flattering. Theres lots of cool stuff you can do,but as i discovered not every move looks flattering in certain angles ect. Another thing i forgot was my FACE, i was too busy concentrating on a move id forget to smile/pout ect so thats important too. Point your toes in each shot,such the stomach in and stretch out your limbs as much as you can for the best good looking body shot. Oh yeh and get lots of grip aids...hot camera lights cause you to sweat and slide all over the place! not good,i didnt realise how hot camera lights and equipment are. Hello, I have been registered for a while now but I hope to be posting more on a frequent basis 🙂 Here are some helpful hints when getting pole pictures done: *Have you seen the photographers work? That can give you a feel for their style. *Make sure to practice beforehand with the outfit you plan to wear so nothing pops out that will distract you from holding the pose * I would go in with a few poses that you know that you want and then work from there....that way you are not overwhelmed. You really want to maximize your time so its better get a good number of solid photos as opposed to trying to get too many poses in and not enough good quality shots based upon fewer poses. How long is your photoshoot? *I would have you makeup done by a professional make up artist or DIY if you know how to do it pretty well. Here is a link to my pole photos that I had done. "Please note...that for my particular style I was going for more something artistic/dancy style and I wanted to convey an emotion. think about your hands. sometimes in still photos on the pole people lose site that their hands and arms look awkward or sloppy. ( i know mine did first time a friend snapped some shots ) if you have a digital camera start finding your angles and arm movements with that so you can see what looks awesome and what looks crazy. Practice your facial expressions with the moves (smiling or just holding a calm face is harder when you have to) My second pole shot wnt much smoother than my first !

thanks empy 🙂 ...yeah watch those facial expressions....sometimes eyes closed looks better vs smiling and sometimes a natural face looks better....depends on the pose.... and how close the photographer is to you/zoomed in.

i'm getting photos done in january! i had a set done that were of a freedance, but they were mostly floor movement and kind of racy (very sexual!) and i really didn't think ahead of time of what shots i wanted. i'm looking for this second set to be mostly pole tricks, i haven't figured out the outfit yet? oy. anyway, i thought it could be helpful to tell you for my shots, maybe it will give you some more ideas? i'm planning on taking pictures of: -pole sit, also pole sit bent over into a ball, also prancing legs, legs extended -mid-climb, with left leg extended in front of pole and leaning back -caterpillar -ayesha -scorpio -brass monkey -cross ankle release -bow and arrow -butterfly & extended butterfly -shoulder mount with one leg on pole and one leg straight back (split) -chair spin -corkscrew spin -chopper -split grip hang with stag legs (a lot of people do body wave from this but i can't yet!) also i saw these pole poses that i thought were beautiful and would like to try to replicate:image001.jpg image002.jpg

Hi , Thank you so much everyone for all the great tips and advice to get read for my pole pics. 🫡 I just finished my photo session today and I think it went very well. 🥂 🤸 ☀️ I remembered all the great tips i got like bringing a list of moves I wanted, pointing my toes, and sucking in my tummy. 😛 I wore a full coverage swarvoski chrystal bra and matching brazilian thong then changed to an all red furry boa feather bra and matching thong all set against the black background. I tried my best to get the right angle in most shots but there was other shots that my face was away from the camera like the straight edge from the cartwheel mount. I have never been so tired after this session. My muscles felt like rubber after. 😮 It was 45 min of holding moves. I wanted to get all the moves in my list but i couldn't do 2 out of my 30 poses as i was extremely exhausted. At the end I fell from the cartwheel mount and landed on my shoulder. 😳 I tucked my head down toward my chest as I fell for safe landing. I didn't get hurt ,just bruised my ego. 😳 I am happy as I got in the following shots 🤸 ; cross ankle release bow and arrow' the dove straight edge from a cross ankle release advance plank knee hold superman The flag caterpillar gemini butterfly helicopter straight edge from a cartwheel mount V sit And various sexy poses on the pole . Wow, those outfits sound great! 🥂 The crystals against a black background probably looked beautiful. I know from experience that photography can be exhausting on both sides. I've been on both the camera end and the model end, and I'll tell ya, I've done some things I didn't think I could do for long! Like crouching...my knees hate it when I do that 😉 I'm so glad it went well for you! I can't wait to see some of them! And as long as you didn't hurt yourself, that's good. I don't think people realize how hard actually holding a move is! 👍

Your outfit sounds hottttttt! Please post;....I cant wait to see the pictures. Yes......doing a photo shoot is a lot of work...I encourage people to not try and do every pose in the book b/c its just too tiring.
